Is it standard for old people to indicate each time they see you may be the last? Also, how do they feel about this? I don't generally sense the panic I would feel at having such a loose hold on the future. I don't mean any of us has a strong hold (or stronghold), but rather a vague sense that things will go on for a while. Of course I'm always afraid I'm about to die, but that's at a war with understanding calendars and probabilities.
Also, I woke up with a headache. I don't know whether it's the barometer (we dropped from a sunny spate of 70+ days down to 50s and overcast, with imminent potential for rain) or the getting knocked around a bit.
