Amazing
Wow, I'm writing something on Livejournal for once.
As many of you probably already know, I'm an Elf. If you don't, then I'm telling you now. You probably think I'm completely insane, but hey, at least I'm harmless (mostly harmless, I should say).
I've had some thoughts over the years, and some strange insights, and have finally honed some down into what I think may be some truths. If you disagree with what I have to say, good for you. Just remember, I don't care. It should also be noted that many of these may overlap with other religions/magick systems/philosophies/etc... Of course, there is always a marking of some sort that identifies something as Elven.
Part I Reality Layer 1:
A. Reality is a multi-layered phenomena. At the most basic level, we have what can be called God or the Tao. At this level, there is no differentiation between anything. It is here that all probabilities and creation occur. Our souls exist at this level
Elven Magick is Creation. Art and Beauty is that creation. By creating Art, we further the creation of the Universe. Think of God as the Artist who sang us into being, or painted us into being.
This brings us to a Zen concept which is almost identical to a facet of Elven Magick: quiet the mind so the soul can speak. The soul knows without thinking the best path (the Tao, that which flows with Nature). If you let the mind get in the way, it can cause unnecessary suffering. The singer and the song become one, or the dancer and the dance.
B. We are currently on the physical level. However, there is a level right beside us that we can't see until we awaken our other senses and realize it's there. It is the Otherworld (non-ordinary reality). It is here that what we term supernatural exists.
C. Another Part of Elven Magick is based around this world and the Otherworld. We put our minds in between and we gain insight into many parts of reality that others may or may not be aware of. In this level, we are capable of conversing with spirits of animals, plants, rocks, etc... Where our world is fixed and formed, this world is Maleable.
D. Elven Magick does not work to control Nature, or to enforce personal Will onto it. Elves seem to share a kind of hive-mind, and this helps drive us towards our need to be individuals. Basically, we are capable of being a collective and individuals at the same time. This ties in with the being in touch with the soul, because we know the best course of action.
That is all of my discourse for now. I don't care whether you think I'm right or wrong. These are some conclusions I have come to over the years. I have studied many ideas, philosophies, religions, etc...
Many of the ideas I have drawn on originate in Eastern philosophy and Celtic religion, as well as some Theoretical physics. I'm sorry if you feel that I have stolen anything, but I assure you, I haven't.
And of course, I may be full of crap.
