Resumes
Apparently the re-org at work means we all have to apply for our new positions. We are moving to a "virtual workplace" where we can report to anyone around the world but supposedly won't have to move for the privilege. It sounds good on paper at least. We'll see how it actually turns out.
Time to dust off the resume and see what I can make happen. On the one hand, I'm told that I should apply for jobs at least 2 levels up from my current pay scale. Since frankly, that's the job level I've been working at. On the other.. I have to apply, interview and actually secure a job or none will be provided. Which SUCKS! I hate interviews and such. Not to mention I'm horribly lousy about singing my own praises.
Oh well time to suck it up and see how I can change "I do what I'm told unless I don't, and then I do what is right.." to something politically correct enough to get me a good job. The only bright side is that I know I've a great reputation in the department and several people high up think quite well of me.
Oh yeah. They gave us 1 week notice before our jobs start coming up on the international site for everyone to bid on. Joy.
