Sorry I wasn't able to reply to this right away. Had a hectic week at work. :(

Anyway, what I had always wondered about in these earlier episodes was why future!Hiro didn't meet Claire, why he didn't even mention her name when he warned Peter. If Claire had known that Sylar was coming for her, what about the storyline would have changed? In her pre-sliced-skull state, would she have gone after him on her own? Would she have told her father (who already knew about it at the time)? Seeing as her personality in the first season is more of the look-before-you-leap, vindictive type (minus her knowing that she won't get hurt in any case), there's a good chance she would have wanted to deal with things on her own. Then, of course, she and Peter wouldn't have met. Or at least not that early in the series.

On another note, I maintain that one of my favorite characters this early into the series is/was Isaac. Peter had this naive awkwardness about him that made him, in a way, the perfect underdog-turned-hero. Isaac, on the other hand, accepted his gift - with Simone as his ultimate undoing - and clearly stated that he wanted to be a hero, despite his wariness of the future. He was a more jaded, slightly broken kind of awkwardness. If only he hadn't been so disheveled when Peter finally met him again. Maybe he'd have decided to go and search for Claire, too. Maybe he would have survived at the very least.
