A/N: Sorry for the long delay :( Unless I collapse again, we shouldn’t have any more really long pauses in the story. Yay! I'm glad you like it - it's a bit slow, but it's a really important chapter in terms of set-up for the next few, which should make up for the lack of action here. :)

Not being as sick is a great thing - although it's amazing what sort of plots I hallucinated/dreamed up while in the emergency room. I have ideas now, lots of ideas for other stories - and maybe a few for this one too :)

Plus, you know YOU'VE gotta get back into the action here. Taking a break when writing a fic story can alter your perspective and give you new, exciting ideas, and require changes to your original plan, so a chapter for refiguring is completely understandable (although, that didn't take anything away from this chapter, I liked the plotty bits in it very much).

Ah yes, fever induced hallucinations - always fun!

FINALLY! I was beginning to think you'd abandoned us! So happy to have you and this story back!

Wow, that last part of the chapter was really heart wrenching. Infertility via regenerative powers SUCKS!

And Sylar's the king of mind fuckery! Jesus, he's got Claire right where he wants her. She's damned no matter which way she decides to go.

I guess the illusion of a nice steady boyfriend demonstrates to Claire that safe equals boreing and a serious lack of passion. Mike is Wonder Bread, a generic substitute that makes her yearn for Sylar all the more...just like he planned it to be from the very beginning.

Brilliant, girl, deviously brilliant!

Hi :) It's good to be back :) The last part is a heartbreaker, but it's also absolutely necessary. Yeah, the boringness of Mike is a definite plan (that, and Sylar just loves the mind fuck aspect of it too - and he gets to show a softer side that he can't let himself show any other way).

Hi and thanks for commenting! :) About Claire - I will explain in the very next chapter why her powers work that way, so it's not just me doing a hand-waving "it is because I say so" thing; it's really important for the overall plot. I'm going to work on the next chapter this morning, so maybe it'll go up later today?
