Can't stop thinking about off-grid technology. Just need land to start. I have this idea for a square complex with a covered, year-round, garden in the center. Pretty sure I can build it for under 20k.
A mix of solar and wind power (dc current) to a deep cycle battery system. Rain barrels for the gardens. Atmospheric water generator for drinking water...maybe a well. Incinerator toilet (fully electric). A mix of electric floorboard heating and wood burning stove, which would be overkill for this ground insulated complex. Utility bills would be none existent. Food bills would be sliced. And sense this is a build as you go project...there would be no house payment of any type. Would just be subject to that bullshit property tax which would be under 500 a year.
