Whuh? I'm really doing this? Ahem!
Okay, vacay coming up soon and I still can't tread water to save my life. Like, literally. So The Hubs took me to the Iron Horse Gym on post and he taught me how to tread in the massive pool. Also helped me perfect my lame-o breaststroke (I can swim, I just can't tread). Basically, your arms are keeping you afloat in the water and your legs are propelling you. Now if I can only stop losing my head whenever I'm in deep water without a floatation device or The Hubs to grab onto.
Currently I'm watching other people's vacation vlogs on Youtube; is it terrible that I'm being judgy-judgy pants about other gals' 'What I packed' videos because it looked like they brought with them their entire toiletry hoard from home, or a butt-load of makeup? Seriously, you're going to an island, and you need two foundations?!
In other news, I've tossed out my Summer Reading Bingo card. I was finally able to finish
Excellent Women by Barbara Pym but it took me 23 days! Pft! Not that the book wasn't amusing, mind you. Reading fanfiction can be very distracting most of the time. Plus, there's a lot of new anime on HuluPlus to marathon! Yeah! Okay, okay, I'm plenty lame. Ugh, you got me.
The same thing happened while I was reading Shirley Hazzard's The Bay of Noon, which was a little more than a 200 pages yet it took me ages to complete, and it wasn't half as amusing as Excellent Women!
I just started on
Wish Her Safe At Home by Stephen Benatar. I'm giving myself a week to read it. If it takes me less than that to complete it, there's hope for me yet.
