thoughts on random junk

I don't really have anything important to say, I just felt like writing. So, let's see...

Marching band is going pretty well. We don't have a game this week so we can take it easy, plus we're reusing our first halftime show next time with the addition of a song. So, no complaints I guess.

Art history is bugging me a bit, but I can live. As usual, it's nothing but memorization. Do people really think this helps? It makes me feel stupid. But I'm doing far better than last semester anyway. This teacher has us giving definition to terms and writing names, era, century, and medium of the art we learned about, not to mention we have six of these tests thoughout the semester. That's opposed to last year, when we had a midterm and a final, and both had us looking at ten pictures and writing EVERYTHING WE COULD POSSIBLY KNOW about them, including background of when the art was made.

I still dislike acting class. I thought it would be a good confidence builder, but if anything it makes me feel like a moron.

I'm going to say right now that Population:Us! is on hold, most likely until winter break. I still love the characters, but I don't have the time at the moment.

Anyone reading this, go buy Wii Music. People seem to discredit this game as a wannabe Guitar Hero game with no score system. But it's so different, that's like comparing Final Fantasy to Tetris Attack. Both good games, but should not be compared together. I like playing the Wii Maestro minigame because you get to conduct instead of play. I mean, I play an instrument all the time so some of that luster is lost on me.

I started a walk-cycle animation because you can't do those enough. I'm using the Pokemon Gardevoir, just because I like them and she's one of the more powerful pokemon on my team. Speaking of pokemon, I decided to keep my Chikorita doll on my bed instead of the shelf. It's surprisingly nice to cuddle. I'm going to get like 5 more pokemon next Fanime. :D

I think it'd be nice to make comics for a living. Newspaper comics or comic books. I don't even care that professional comic book artists get like $80-120 per page. My current art teacher John Clapp wanted to make comics but turned it down because of the pay, but I think a job like that would be fun enough that it'd be worth it. Besides, if you sell original comic pages that you made, you can get another $70 or so.

I'm collecting Icee points. Lately the large cups count as 25 points, when they usually count for 2. That'll making getting the stuffed Icee bear or the towel much easier (both 500 points). My roommate keeps his cups too, so I don't have to buy so many on my own. Maybe later I'll rummage through the trash by the store too. Thankfully the store is on campus and I can use my meal money for it, and I still have almost $300 left, they aren't expensive.

I think I'm going to get a PS2 for Christmas, which makes me happy. I've said it before, but ever since I first played Gitaroo Man, I swear it was love at first sight.

This semester feels like it's been going pretty fast. I hope I can graduate within a couple years. Since it's suggested that students take only two studio art classes per semester, it's going to be pretty tough. I got most GE done at DVC, art classes are virtually all I have left. Perhaps in a couple years I'll just go to school part time and also have a job to help pay for it. I dunno what's going to happen but frankly, the future is always intimidating to me.

It's probably time for me to do some homework. Sorry for the random non sequitar dribble but now you know what goes through my mind during the day. Thanks for reading!
