I've been slacking about posting. Sorry folks.
My trip to Florida and the drive back was really cool. I didn't really spend much quality time in New Orleans, since it was apparently monsoon season there the night I got there. I had planned on getting a bite to eat in the Quarter and maybe stroll the streets having a beer (liberal open container laws make me feel so naughty). There was a tornado watch on there till 7, and it didn't stop raining till after midnight. Which is a little frightening to me, considering NOLA is under sea level and all the problems with the levees and stuff. So I ate at a place near my hotel (gumbo and poboy), and toured the Quarter and other parts of the city by the light of day. Lots of trailers and empty/abandoned houses. Really sad. I'd like to go back for a weekend at some point soon just to see what's what.
Came back and saw my brother's band play New Years Eve, which was a great show. My brother has an annual party New Years Day, which is yet another excuse to drink alot and socialize. Good times.
Since then, I've just been doing the work thing...I'm going up to Dallas this weekend to visit some family. Always excitement.
