Summary: The first thing on Jaejoong's mind, "Yunho. I need to call Yunho."
The moment the press conference finishes, your heart almost stops beating. Almost. It takes a large jolt from Yoochun to wake you up from staring at a blank TV screen for what could've been two, five, ten, one hundred minutes, but it's not like you care, you have more important things to be dealing with rather than worrying how long you spent watching the space where the possible end of your career - your life - had just flashed across a stupid Japanese hotel room televison screen.
"Yunho. I need to call Yunho." you say, knowing that it probably won't make a difference. He'll most likely ignore your calls. He'll pretend he couldn't hear the phone. He'll pretend he was dealing with some serious business, possibly even life threatening to his Great Aunt Julia (who you know for sure is NOT one of his family members), when you know he's just a coward and can't possibly face even your voice after seeing something so horrific that potentially could've been words from his mouth or ink from his pen.
A thousand things run through your mind as you make a grab for the cellphone that just yesterday you were typing that teenager thing of 'I love you, Yunnie~' down through the line to a completely different country. Maybe he was influenced by his Dad. Maybe he was influenced by Changmin. Changmin is young, maybe he wanted to keep his career afloat as long as possible. Perhaps he was influenced by his Dad who was influenced by Changmin's Dad who was influenced by Changmin.
Was this where he and Changmin been on one of the most important days of his sister's life? Was this where they were while you were with Yoochun and Junsu, explaining why the other two members couldn't attend, using the excuse that they had very busy schedules and it just wasn't possible. While you were with Yoochun and Junsu celebrating something that you had dreamt about sharing with Yunho sometime in the hopeful near future. Signing their life into a document, putting a deadline on when exactly the trio, who had attempted to fight for the whole band's rights, had to make up their minds if they were going to stay in Dong Bang Shin Ki.
You blame it on the drama. On the bad ratings. Maybe Yunho would like his fans to carry on supporting him if they know that he's the one trying to keep the band alive when in fact he's the one destroying you from the inside. You blame it on the seperation that the lawsuit has had on the amazing quintet that you had just a year ago.
Your heart explodes as the dialling tone continues. It's been over a minute now and he hasn't picked up. You can see him in the DBSK dorm, pacing forwards and backwards with his thumbnail in his mouth - "Take that out of your mouth!" you would've said if you were there, "You don't see our baby doing that." likely to then thrust a finger in Changmin's face accusingly - wondering whether to pick up the phone or to leave it. Said maknae would be sat on the sofa, probably being considerably unhelpful to the situation by naming the pros and cons of answering to 'your bitchfaced boyfriend who thinks he's my umma' - "He'll just shout at you, us. But he might just tell you he loves you. Maybe you can answer just to see. Then again, what if it's Yoochun telling you that Jaejoong's gone on a crazy rampage or even killed himself. Ah, but if it is just him shouting, it's better to get it over now, surely?" - and you could just picture the worried look on your Yunho's face as he has an inner debate with himself, probably dismissing any words Changmin says.
"Yoboseyo?" you hear on the other end - finally - and it's his voice. It isn't his worried voice. It isn't his 'faking to make it seem like he's cool' voice. It's just Yunho and maybe you could work with this. Maybe if all along, he's just Yunho and you're just Jaejoong.

This was a quickie. I will leave no opinion on the matter in hand - just that I'm upset. Upset that they aren't like they were a year ago, when Mirotic was fresh.
