NaNoWriMo 2008: In Which I Kick The Crap Out Of My Word Count

Nov 09, 2008 22:27

I managed to rack up a miserable 1169 words in two days from Friday to Saturday. And one of those was a zero on Saturday.

But today I made up for it all by registering a staggering 5063 words for today. I am ... drum roll please ... caught up! *cheer* I'm actually ahead by nine whole words. It is to be amazed.

NaNo's word count widgets and stuff are in disagreement on my progress to this point. And they're all wrong in some way or other. I'm keeping the real word count progress in the back of my novel journal.

Here's to a Week Two that's full of even more words!Things discovered about the novel today:
  • Let Sarah talk. Let her get up on her li'l soapbox and sing her heart out. It does wonders for the word count, not to mention the speed.
  • Let Sarah have disagreements with people. See previous comment.
  • Let Cain and the shadow argue it out. Cain has quite the mouth on him too.
