Phone disconnect due to faulty DSL filter

Oct 15, 2007 17:13

I'm leaving my land line disconnected for the moment, or at least during tonight's MUX meeting. My DSL went out today and I found out that an old phone cable and a DSL filter are to blame. Without the DSL filter, I'll get knocked offline if my answering machine answers the phone or if I pick it up. The cellphone's working though ... and I have six hundred minutes to use up in a week! :) I suppose the $100 was worth it for a year's worth of minutes, but man - some people talk too much! Not me. :) I'll be needing a new card though, and from the way finances look this month (thank you to my oral surgeon, who forced me to pay the entire remainder of my bill Right Damn Now), I'll be getting a leetle card of minutes that will last for thirty days so I have cellphone functionality until I can lay out another $100. Isn't there a better way to pay as you go? How about a pay as you go plan for People Who Don't Spend Their Whole Lives On A Cellphone? Hmm? I used less than five hundred minutes in an entire year. Stupid cellphone companies. Oh well. It's the best I can do and it's not that too horribly bad I suppose.

Soon: Dinner.
Next: MUX meeting.
Hopefully: the internet will continue to work. *crosses fingers.
