I have a blurb!

I'm not completely happy with it, but I don't hate it with a fiery passion, either.

When college student Kevin Meier tells his girlfriend that he loves her for the first time, he prepares himself for the feeling to be unrequited. What he isn't ready for is that in the moment it takes him to speak the words, she dies in his arms. His 9-1-1 call goes unanswered, as do his screams for help down the hallway of his apartment building. He runs outside to get his truck so he can drive her to the hospital himself, but as soon as the warm summer air hits his face, he knows it's pointless.

Bodies lay lifeless on the sidewalks, and the cars in the street are idling as their former operators are slumped in their seats. A drive through town shows the same thing, as does a trip down the highway. Everyone is dead. So, why is he still alive?

Kevin settles into a new life in the farmhouse he grew up in, tending to his father's corn each morning and taking care of the mess around town in the afternoons. After paranoia brought on by his month-long isolation kicks in, he hears something over the roar of the tractor. It's the most beautiful sound he's ever heard--a female voice. And, it's coming his way.
