"You make up the best stories like Daddy does...only your stories are about castles and princes and Daddy's are 'bout twinks and the dance land called Babylon,"
Oh Brian!
"But that's what daddies are for,"
Jesus Christ, Gus!
"Love you, Papa," Gus said before tearing out of the bathroom before his Daddy Justin could stop him.
Possible the simplest, purest love I've ever seen.
How did you make this so sweet? Justin is dumbstruck..hehe...But Gus, awwww sweet, little Gus. I love him to pieses.
This chapter CAPTURED ME with the first line! I was actually teary (not something I do often) with how touchingly you illustrated this intimate little hand-washing scenario. Justin's reactions are totally in character, Justin sighed, scratching the back of his head...". I can envision his doing just that because we've seen it in canon.
You answered the question about where B/J stand at this point in a non-obtrusive way, "you live with Daddy...you love Daddy...".
The is one of those 'I was washing the dishes and had an ah ha moment' kind of scenes.

Glad you caught it. A more detailed explanation about the way things work will be coming in the upcoming chapter, but none of it in the 'drive a truck through it' kind of way.
I also hinted at the answer to the 'where does CM fit in question in White Noise.' But, you know, I'm all about the layers.
How old is Gus at this point? I’m not sure you’ve made mention of it. If you have I’m sorry for asking. I like the fact that your Gus is actually able to hold a conversation. Why did Colwip give Gus such little on screen time? He robbed us of all the good Brian and Gus scenes. It was enjoyable watching him with Justin; their interactions are always special. Justin becomes a kid when he’s around Gus.
Gus asking Justin’s approval to call him Papa is just adorable, and then asking if Justin just wanted to be friends. Takes a smart kid to realize when a situation is getting uncomfortable, and an even smarter one to know how to wrap around it.
Daddy's are 'bout twinks and the dance land called Babylon," Gus said, wrinkling up his nose before continuing......LOL.
White Noise - 11, past; 16, present (The time table for these will be made more clear as the chapters progress.)
Home - 5/6

You should always tell me if something isn't obvious because sometimes I don't notice things. Forest/Trees and all that.
In some spots, I was intentionally vague about ages because I'm sort of telling this from Gus' perspective as far as memories go and, while people can kind of remember when something happened, it'll never be exact. Ya know?

I've actually put a lot of my younger self into Gus. The fact that I read a lot when I was a kid meant that I would always come up with things that would make my parents pause before answering. LOL!
Why did Cowlip give Gus such little on screen time?Probably monetary

thanks for answering the questions. I kind of had the same ages in mind when i was reading it, but i just had to make sure.

So this fic is personal to you in a sense. I think it's great. I did'nt start reading that early, i'm not saying i was s stupid kid..but ya know each kid learns things at a different time and at a different pace.
i never had any doubt that 5-yr. old gus would win my heart.
"Sometimes people like to think about super heroes saving them from things that are scary or uncomfortable," Justin suggested. Sort of like this conversation.
"But that's what daddies are for," Gus replied, offering a bright smile that Justin returned in spite of himself.

Young Gus is fin to write because you can get away with him saying just about anything.
I wrote this scene for a couple of reasons, but the primary one was to establish their true relationship as well as to show that, even though Justin spent a time in New York, it didn't affect his relationships with the gang. One of the secondary reasons I wrote it was just because I ♥ writing Gus and B/J scenes. LOL!

I was riding the happy, fluff wave that was left because of "The One..."
And then I got angsty and wrote four more chapters in one night. LOL!

Oh well...fixed it.

You did have a tremendously craptastic week and then I go and depress you with the next chapter. :(
I shall write something warm and fuzzy for you this weekend.

Considering it made me laugh out loud when I was writing it, I have high hopes it will make you feel better.
I just have to find a way to end it properly. (read: angst)
