Normally, I stay out of politics, but this rant was just so perfectly on point that it needs to be seen. Politicians aren't even trying to pretend that they give a shit about the people they're supposed to represent.

Well, if we're short on money and these assholes are already swimming in money here's an idea -- we don't pay them. After all, they're always so quick to say they're only doing it to represent their people and all that rot, right? That and you can forget about giving them the free healthcare they get as part of serving, too.

That or we could pay them what most of the people they represent make -- minimum hourly wage -- and only pay them for the hours that actually put in. Miss a meeting? So sorry. You don't get paid. Don't show up for a vote or debate because you're too busy getting your hair done? No pay. Too busy running your election campaign to vote? No pay for that, either.

And, of course, they'll have the same damned health care most people have -- none. They can be "self pay"/out of pocket, too.

Viola! Instantly, the coffers are filled with millions saved!
