i was talking to a friend of mine who was helping one of the union candidates with his/her campaign. i asked him how much the candidate would've spent on the campaign, because it sounds expensive, and he said it would be a lot, but that he thinks the union gives them money for it ( Read more... )

as an international student you should want the union to help out. you're apart of the most marginalised group in the university, without the union there would barely be any services available to you. ive tried to deal with the university itself about international students issues at sydney and other universities and feankly they all suck. basically they take your money and thats about it.

ok. turn up to uni, go to class. leave. fine by me. for those of us who seek a campus rather than a line of classes, who may have a lecturer/tutor treat them poorly, want a concession card, have money problems, want somewhere to have a coffee/socialise between classes, etc etc, the university is primarily a place for education but is not just a degree factory.

relorya- the only reason u were able to join the dance society was because of the union, who helps to pay for the societies. suds as well.
