Im so damn angry at the moment, that I would give my freakin right arm for an uzi right now... *growls
After 12 days, I had to return home to help Amy out with her wedding at the end of the month. Ive been forced, by the freakin step-family, to do a juggling act with Pop's safety and welfare in one hand, and my daughter's need for her Mum's

As to your question regarding a will... they have taken every doucment from his home, and left not one scrap of anything which would explain
what his "life" is at this point. When we asked Tommy about a will, we
were told there was no will... this regarding a man who has always been
meticulous in every aspect of his life... who even now, in his dementia,
makes sure when he puts on his socks, they are eactly even when he pulls
them up.
They have told us that they want Pops and Betty together... yet they separated them a month ago, when they took Betty and left Pops by himself.
This was done because they said Pops didnt want to fly... and there was only a one bedroom assisted living apartment available at the time. Welllll
then why not wait until a two bedroom became available and moved them at the same time? Or better yet, why not let them share the one bedroom until a two bedroom became available??? To this question, they seem to have no answer... It's been three weeks since my father went into ICU... and no signs of Betty yet. Why hasnt she been flown down to see Pops yet???
As far as the remaining money in Pops' account... the sister Susie had herself added to the account the day Betty was flown to NC. As far as the bank is concerned, she has every right to continue to draw money from the account.. *shrugs Russ and I found a banker at one of the Bank of America locations in Cape Coral who understands the situation and has been helping us to try and salvage the account for Pops. With of power of attorney in hand, we set up a new account for Pops with each of us listed as POA. I am waiting for the checks and information she sent to me so that I can contact Social Security, the Air Force, and Boeing to have the direct deposit of his pensions redirected to this new account.
We are currently working with both a State investigator from the Florida Department of Children and Families, who is investigating this as a case of Elder exploitation, and with 2 social workers versed in alzheimers. I will also be touring a wonderful facility not too far from our house that has a great alzheimers facility. It is our hope that Pops and Betty can live there when we get this mess straightened out... because at this point, I just dont trust the step-family to "take care" of Pops in North Carolina... *shrugs
I sppreciate the hug, lillaone.. more than you can possibly know... *S
