Wow, I just realized that I didn't post at all in September. I guess there just isn't too much going on. This week I've been sick. Monday I got the depo shot for birth control and nearly passed out. I blamed the nurse who I was sure was enjoying hurting me. But, Tuesday morning I nearly passed 2 more times. So, I called the office and spoke to another nurse who was nothing but rude to me. She told me that it had nothing to do with the shot and just to take it easy. So, I called off work and laid around for 2 days. Thursday I tried to go back to work, but only made it half a day before getting chills and nausea and came home. Today I saw the doctor who told me that it was most likely due to the shot (not the medicine in the shot). It is vasovagal syncope, or as
stainedcyrano said, "the common faint." Once again I was told to take it easy and get pletny of fluids. He also recommended that I not get the shot again. I knew never having my period again was too good to be true. Ugh. I think that I may get it again anyway. At least I'll know what to expect. I'm willing to take a few days of light-headedness every three months over feeling crappy 5 days every month. Anyway, I'm going into work for a few hours today, even though I'm off because I need to make up a few hours so I don't have to use so much sick time. I'm feeling pretty good so far. Hopefully I make it through.
