baby, meme and tv
1/ OMG OMG I'm sorry but you'll have to deal with me being terribly happybouncynervous today, because at 6.30 this morning, my best friend called to tell me she'd just gone into labor. If everything goes well, she'll give birth to her beautiful baby boy today and I'm so very happy for her I feel like bursting. I just wish there was anything I could do to make the whole thing easier for her.
ETA: He's here! Baby Levin has just been born. He and his proud mama are happy and healthy and I'm actually crying with joy. I'm an honorary aunt now! :)
2/ I'm in the process of reading my way through the flist, so if you haven't received feedback on your stories from me by now, expect it some time today. Yay for some quality reading time!
3/ (a) I finally managed to get my hands on the Supernatural pilot, and I absolutely loved it. I knew I was going to like it the second I spotted David Nutter's name in the opening credits, but now I have the feeling I might get really hooked on this. Hee.
(b) So... maybe I have a thing for gaycest. Which is only one reason why I'd like to second randomalia's rec for Said the Joker to the Thief by _cee. It's Sam/Dean, NC-17, and the sheer hot beauty of it just took my breath away.
4/ This is the first time in months that I'm not wildly excited at the prospect of a new BSG episode. Resurrection Ship jarred me; in a way, I felt cheated by the second part, by how easily it all came together in the end, how none of the moral dilemmas was really brought to a point. I expect there to be some sort of fall-out throughout the next few episodes, especially for Lee, and this is really the only thing I'm looking forward to at this point.
5/ Don/Charlie wallpaper, anyone? Just a real quick effort, because I got tired of the black one.

6/ Got tagged by slick_puppy, so here ya go:
1. I can only fall asleep if both of my shoulders are wrapped securely in a blanket.
2. When I'm nervous or frustrated, I start biting the insides of my cheeks.
3. I love running against a slight headwind, because I tell myself that it helps me catch my breath. Heh.
4. When reading a book, I never ever take sneak peeks at unread chapters because that'd make me feel like I was cheating the author.
5. I hardly ever sit in a back-friendly position; most of the time, either one of my legs is bent awkwardly under my body, or my left hand gets trapped beneath my right thigh (which often turns my left shoulder into a painful mess).
6. I'm not overly superstitious, but I never sit down to write something without wearing the cheap faux Indian necklace my father bought for my mother while he was on a two-months-trip to Canada many years ago. When I feel the weight of the smooth black stones against my neck, I know that my Muse is with me.
7. I love boring chores, because they allow my mind to wander and come up with all sorts of interesting stories about life, the universe and all the rest.

7/ The more I see of Everwood, the more I wish it was all about the Abbott family. I like Doc Brown and his offspring, but my love belongs to Harold and Rose and Amy and Bright. Oh, and Edna, of course. ♥
