Sie haben uns ein Denkmal gebaut...

This? Just gave me the biggest grin...

It seems I caught a cold some time this week (let me guess - it was the long walk in the rain on Wednesday ;_;) so I've put myself on self-medication. I just took some nasal spray, and because my nose is all runny the stuff is now trickling down the back of my throat. Ewww. Also, I can't stop thinking of Arthur (from King of Queens) who is severely addicted to sprays... ^^

Last night I visited an open-air concert of Wir Sind Helden. It was absolutely wonderful. They were in a great mood, joking around a lot, and played all of my favorite songs and not too many of their newer/slower songs (which are good, too, but when I'm in a concert I prefer fast-paced songs^^). There were two encores, much to the audience's delight. The stage had been built in the courtyard of a small palace, giving the show a unique atmosphere. I think the band liked it there, too. Much to my surprise, I also liked the supporting acts (that rarely happens, since I'm always waiting impatiently for the main act), most of all the spanish band Delorean. The lead singer's voice reminded me a bit of The Cure (esp. in Love Cats). Their style was refreshingly different from most mainstream artists, very energetic and good to dance to. Here are a few samples:
Delorean - The Wishbones
Rock with a synthesizer element (I hate synths. With a passion. But I can't helping liking how it merges in with the band's style. Very nice!)
Wir Sind Helden - Ist das so (Their opening song. Rockish. Very popular with the audience.)
Wir Sind Helden - Denkmal (A huge favorite of mine. I loved how the audience sang along to this.)
Wir Sind Helden - Nur ein Wort (This is such a gorgeous song! I just have to sing along whenever I hear it. The video for the song is a sort of remake of Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues, including the band members holding up placards with the song's lyrics on them. Some of the audience brought their own placards, holding them up for the band to see. It was very funny!)

Maybe it's because HBP will be released very soon, but all of a sudden I find myself jonesing for Snape/Harry fic again. Fortunately, pornish_pixies is catering perfectly well to my needs. *clings to shiny prOn*

You know, German tv channel Pro7 is making me really angry these days. Not only do they put both Lost and Desperate Housewives on hiatus, showing reruns instead of continuing with the current season, no, they also show a trailer advertising for how they, unlike other channels, do not go on summer break. Which they prove by showing new eps of The O.C. and Charmed (not my favorites by far). Ack, my blood pressure! I've half a mind to start a campaign, asking people to send coconuts and lingerie to Pro7, protesting against their obvious double standards...
