LJ Idol -Week 0 Post - Introduction
I'm a 35 (for another month) mother of 2 girls, ages 6 and 3. My husband, darkwolf69, was a contestant last season after I pointed him to the community. I was still reluctant to officially sign up myself, but decided to play the "home game". I didn't do many of the topics though, so I figured if I signed it up this time and had a real deadline like everyone else, maybe I'd actually do the writing. ;)
We just got our power back after 5 days of no electricity (so thankful for our gas water heater!)...I almost missed the deadline because of it. I was still posting to LJ via phone, but commenting was tedious through the phone and forget trying to copy/paste a URL! Since I'm a stay-at-home mom, I had no office where I could find refuge and get my internet fix.
Now, continuing with my favorite subject...ME! That's a lie as I'm actually not a big fan of talking about myself. I'd much rather listen to others, given a choice (though this may not be reflected well in my journal, which really is all about me me me! Hehe). My husband and I are polyamorous and we are in a long-term committed relationship with another couple. Currently, our relationship with them is long-distance, but we manage to be in the same zip code roughly once every month or so, and plan to be living together by sometime next summer. There have been a lot of fun (and not-so-fun) "surprises" that have made our well-laid plans change in creative ways, so we'll how it goes.
I'm also a Unitarian Universalist. Although the past year has been an exception, I am usually quite active in my church and plan to resume being more active during this church year (though I probably shouldn't say that too loudly or I'm likely to get asked to join 5 committees). I've already volunteered for one project, so we'll see what else I can get into as the church year gets going.
I have the usual hobbies of scrapbooking, stamping, the occasional knitting, reading and of course, LJ. Packrat on Facebook has become quite an addiction for me too...it's about the only thing I do on there these days. Now that the power is finally back, I have some catching up to do on there too. Heh.
I think that's plenty for now. I'm looking forward to getting started with LJ Idol!
