Was suddenly flooded with old snapshots, images of a younger me riding BMX bicycle around RPR Sri Aman, and then my Raleigh bicycle racing through the streets of Limbang town to Cikgu Mohd Loh's house for tuition and Pengakap activities, me in my Scout's uniform hiking through the rapids we went for camping, another one of me and my friends climbing up the stairs of the telecommunication tower on top of a hill in Limbang (cant recall what's the name of the hill though) and me climbing on the police truck fetching us back from school.
How different it was back then. No golf. No fancy country clubs. No PS2 (oklah, Sega video games). No shopping complex.
But I did softball in school, became one of the cheerleaders, joined the choir, became the girl's head prefect. Joined various competitions such as Syair, Tulisan Khat and some UPSR Interschool Quiz or something.
And I remembered how ambitious I was - aspiring to be a Petronas pump attendant :D among other ambitions such as Private Detective, and Astronaut. Yeah, I wanted to be one back then. Definitely not now.
My teenager years are spent mostly in my boarding school - rollcalls, preps, debate competitions, Co-op, prefect, librarian, outing. And TM scholarship amounted up to RM60 per month, enough for me to be very much independent from my parents and to buy myself Sasbadi reference books :)
And what happened to me now? I wonder did I ever picture myself to be the person I am currently...
Purely nostalgic.
