Wow, never thought I would see such an article written by a (formerly) high-ranking Republican.
While his general message is strongly pro-austerity and anti-Keynesian, he has some interesting, to say the least, rhetoric.
Some choice cuts:
- mutant crony capitalism that periodically lavishes the top 1 percent with speculative windfalls
- The culprits are bipartisan, though you’d never guess that from the blather that passes for political discourse these days
- a tax-cutting spree for the wealthy that turned K Street lobbyists into the de facto office of national tax policy. In effect, the G.O.P. embraced Keynesianism - for the wealthy
- another front in the G.O.P.’s war against the 99 percent
