its been six months since my last confession... er, live journal entry.
it is snowing outside. i wonder if it will turn into a snowpocalypse. i'm actually ok with that if it does. the snow always sort of force the world up here to do things differently. the monotony breaks, people help each other on the road, share cozy fires and cocoa and are often forced to take some much needed downtime. well, thats my story anyway.
there's some upcoming shows. tomorrow i am singing with Anguisette in support for Das Ich. should be quite awesome. i'm not sure that Das Ich has ever played Seattle. -oh, my client just canceled...mmmhmm.. there's that snow thing- anyway, Das Ich.. and Anguisette. Anguisette has been lovely to perform with so far. the beautiful creation of Jyri Glynn. We have done two shows, one opening for The Sanguinarian debut feature film in Boise, Idaho and the last show was the cd release at The Mix, a place i'll never play again, but that's another story for another time. it is interesting playing with them, as i am one of four vocalists. i have to admit, its a little strange sharing the stage with so many vocalists and having so much space in between songs, especially because of one my favorite loves is building with the intensity of the set with each song to its very last crescendo song ...it's like audio sex! -so does that make Anguisette like group sex? ahahaha... it is all good. it is a good experience and i very much enjoy all the very talented musicians i get to perform with.
initially, it was quite possibly never going to be played live. more a Delirium type recording project. the two songs, "Resolution" and "Dimitto" that i am featured on the album were written five years ago, during an in-between time of my life musically where i believe my voice was going through a transformation, prior to a re-awakening, just as i certainly was! if i were to record with Anguisette now, the songs would be much different. they would be ....more. -nevertheless, it has been very enjoyable performing my two songs, as well as a couple other songs that are fierce to perform, written by ladies not from this area, "Reset" and "Betrayal". i look forward to discovering what is evoked in me for the second album.
damnit! am i slightly allergic to citrus? i just ate one lil orange wedge and now i'm all stuffy and eyes all itchy. *sigh*
what else can i ramble on about while i watch my clients disappear of the schedule one by one?
ah, yes.. then there's the last show of the year for The Break Up before we go into the studio to record our second album. This show is extra special because it is on the very Happy Birthday day of thee Seraphim! i am hoping this snow doesn't take away from people being able to come out and celebrate with us. Chris's aunt Joy is also flying up tomorrow morning for the week of thanksgiving festivity, shows and birthday fun. the last time she was up here was during summer, when it was gorgeous and sunny. it will be great to share in new memories with her, talking walks in the snow as we share cocoa and do our best not to slip on the sidewalks.
thats enough rambling for this post....
anguisette,
the break up
