Or Mumbai as the case may be. Actually in Panvell (or howver you spell it, where we went for the rural rotaions) I saw a guy wearing a shirt with the hammer and sickle and something in hindi circling it, and also a poster incorporating the hammer and sickle and an Om symbol (less sure about that one as we were driving by in the crazy no shocks ambulence).
Anyways, I'm not going to give total recap of each day and just give a brief description and a bunch of the highlights, actually given that this cyber cafe closes soon I may only be able to give some and the rest will go up tomorrow.
So we went to Panvell which is a 1.5 hour train ride out of Mumbai. The town is fairly suburban/urban and not really "rural" per say, though there are periodic power failures to remind you that you are not in the big city and electricity I guess stops partially after 9 (I never did figure out the power station). Anyways thats where we did rotations, where we slept was in the naturopathy center connected to leprousy rehabilitation village/commune thing outside of town that was decidedly very rural.
Our group was fairly fractured. Erik didn't end up coming at all, he was thinking he might come down late because he wanted to see a friend who was in town. Patrick left on Wednesday to go deal with business stuff. He's getting a job here. That was actually kind of nice because he often grates on my nerves. I got to hang out with just Shelley and Alicia which was a lot of fun but alas they left too and spent the last day there all by my lonesome. Which actualyl wasn't bad at all.
Ok they're kicking me out, I'll post the highlights tomorrow.
