The internet is being stupid again. Of course. It's Comcast.
Kaz cuts better promos though. Definitely. Most definitely.
Like this one he cut with Eric Young, since Eric's freaking out about Rellik being "Killer" backwards and how Rellik's going to kill someone tonight and death is in the air...
*enter Kaz... carrying pictures of movie monsters*
"See Eric... Dracula.... it's a guy playing Dracula... Frankenstein... Look at that head. That hair. Scary, right? But here's my point, Eric, they're all fake. All of it. Miichael Myers... Freddy Krueger... Jason... Count Chocula... Frankenberry... Hillary Clinton. They're all made up monsters."
Hahahaha... Thank you Kaz.
Bwahahahaha! Brother Ray is wearing Loony Tunes boxers. *L*
I wonder if I should apply our grading system to TNA... though it might fail miserably since y'know... there might actually be more than 10 wrestling moves in a match.
Rellik and Black Reign are teaming up and they're going to answer the challenge of Shark Boy and Curry Man... And out come Bubba Ray and D-Von... and now Kaz comes out ... Shark Boy and Curry Man get the win, but it's a war zone in the ring. Kaz is going at it with Rellik... Brother Ray is beating up on Shark Boy... And there's tables. And Eric Young goes after D-Von and Brother Ray... but then he sees Rellik and Black Reign and starts backing up. And there goes Eric Young. And there goes Kaz, through the table.
Y'know... I hope they do this feud. I hope they do it right. They could make a really good feud out of Kaz/Young vs. Black Reign/Rellik.
Kaz needs to have a ladder match. *nod*
Okay... it's time for hockey. *L*
Before moving along to other hockey... I was watching Bruins/Thrashers earlier today, and the announcer said something that... I don't know. It's one of those things you hear, and you know what the person saying it means by it, but... there's really got to be a better way to say it? Yeah. So they're talking about David Krejci during the shootout, and one of the announcers says:
"...he's had a couple of real goals lately, too..."
Real goals? As opposed to fake ones? Because goals scored in the shootout aren't really goals?
LIke I said... I understand what the announcer meant, but still. He has to have a better way to express that.
First is New Jersey at Montreal, where they're asking "Cristobal Who-eh?" Cheesy and stupid, but kinda cute. Price is getting the start for the Habs, and Brodeur will get the nod for New Jersey. Also starting at 7pm is the Toronto Maple Leafs at Washington Capitals game, where Kolzig will start for the Caps after Huet pitched the shutout yesterday against New Jersey, and Toskala will start for Toronto despite also playing yesterday. It's the battle for first place in the East between Montreal and New Jersey... and well... the other game is just... a battle? Not really. Washington needs to win to keep up with Carolina in the Southeast, and Toronto can only hope to play spoiler at this point in their season.
Tomorrow Buffalo takes on Detroit, which I look forward to.
I made beef stew and parmesan biscuits for dinner tomorrow... and I have cucumber, tomato, fresh mozarella and chick peas to make a salad. I've invited my brother and sister-in-law down for dinner, so hopefully they'll show up. It'll be nice to have everyone for dinner.
And then I will have to select a date to make my lasagna to have
phenixshallrise over for dinner... and I want to make my burgandy chicken for
sirchristian and
destinyrose10 one day too.
Washington's only 3 points behind Carolina, and has 2 games in hand on Carolina. This appears promising. :) Alternatively, Washington is 5 points out of 8th place, and 3 points out of 9th. Carolina might be the realistic hope at this point. Damn useless Southeastern division. We'll yet again have a 3rd seed who wouldn't have made the playoffs if it were based on points. At least that isn't a worry in the West, where the 3rd seed would be 5th seed if it were based on points. It's funny though, the better races are in the East. Detroit is going to win the Western Conference, and Dallas and Minnesota will win their respective divisions. In the East? First place in the conference as well as 1st and 2nd seeds are up for grabs between 4 teams--Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Ottawa and Montreal. Third seed will be whoever manages to win the southeast and procure the dubious honor of being a 3rd seed with less points than the 9th seed who got left out of the playoffs, and that's up for grabs between Carolina and Washington. Seeds 4 and 5 will be the two teams who don't get seeds 1 and 2. But the 6, 7 and 8 are up for grabs between 5 teams.
Seconds left in the 1st period in Montreal, where neither team has managed to get one by the other yet. Carolina and Tampa are tied at 1... and Washington has a 1-0 lead over Toronto. All three games are currently in intermission.
Bwahahahaha... Don Cherry. Don's wearing this red striped tie and a maroon jacket with a pink rose. And he's talking about Jeremy WIlliams, who he (Cherry) says has.... "magic hands", and he does this wavy thing with his hands as he says it, and it's just wrong. *L* On Williams, Cherry says: "he plays a third game... a third goal. He's got the... those magic hands..."
And now he says that Brad Richards looks good in green and gold. "When I think of Brad, I think of..." And then he goes off on this tangent about Sundin. *L* Never finished his train of thought on Richards. *L*
"He's 37 years old, he's got a bad hip, and by not doing this, agreeing to waive his no-trade clause, he just added 2 or 3 years to his career because he knows he can't go to war for 2 months with his hip." -- Don Cherry on Mats Sundin. "He's smart. Don't give me this he loves Toronto crap. Two days after the season, he's back in Sweden, and he comes in two days before camp starts. He doesn't love Toronto. He's smart."
The Devils have now not scored a goal in the last 118 minutes and 10 seconds of play. And counting, as the 2nd period starts at Le Centre Bell.
LA/Colorado starts in about five minutes... so I'll be watching that. And then 8:30 is San Jose/St. Louis, so I'll be channel-hopping at that point, and rather distracted. *L*
Foote is thrilled to be back.. they interviewed him before the game, and even just from watching how he stepped out onto the ice at the Pepsi Center and looked around, they could tell he felt like he was home. He met his wife in Colorado, their kids were born in Colorado... so back in Denver, Foote's come back home.
They love my Muppet in Colorado suddenly. *L* The announcers are talking about him, how he and linemate Arnason led the team in points, each with 9 for some period of time... how Svatos has put together a 5 game scoring streak recently, and all with big time points and goals. *loves on my Muppet*
131 minutes and the Devils score. And it was Gionta who scored 131 minutes ago, and it's Gionta who scores now to tie the game with Montreal at 1. Colorado/Los Angeles is scoreless, and Toronto has taken a 2-1 lead over Washington. Dallas/Nashville is just underway.
Forsberg is not yet in the lineup for Colorado. He can't say for sure when he'll be ready, as he wants to get a few full practices in with his teammates before getting on the ice in a game situation, however, the Avs play at home again Tuesday, and Thursday, so it's hopeful that he'll make one of the starts on the current homestand.
Holy crap! Nabokov is NOT starting the game tonight??!!!?? What sacrilege is this!??! *Nabokov seen on bench muttering unintelligibly under his breath and wondering who that guy is in his crease*
*g* I must admit I'm amused by the Sharks announcers right now. They're talking about something, I can only assume it's the game, but seriously? What they're saying? It's like they're talking about something other than hockey. *L* "I'm really liking what I'm seeing out there right now, the way skaters are giving way to other skaters and the way they're moving with power and purpose, it's like they're not even conscious of where they are or what they're doing, but it's working and they're right there." and "thirty-eight seconds of violence and rage between Shelley and King..." Who said hockey announcers had to major in early English Literature?
Bwahahaha! OMG. Read Shelley's lips as he's talking to King in the opposite box, and he says "we'll go again, a fight? Okay". That's awesome. I'll have to watch!
San Jose on a 5-on-3 for some penalties I missed... it doesn't appear they're doing much. Well... right as I say that of course, Campbell gets an assist and Pavelski scores, and the Sharks lead, 1-0. And the Sharks still have a 5-on-4 for about another minute. And has Campbell been off the ice since the 5-on-3 began? Oh my dear Soupy.
Devils/Habs still tied at 1, though the Devils are certainly giving Montreal their chances on the power play. Carolina is up 5-1 on Tampa Bay, so Washington (currently down 2-1 to the Leafs) will need to win to keep pace in the dismal Southeast. Sharks/Blues goes to the first intermission with the Sharks holding a 1-0 lead.
Wraparound by Andrei Kostitsyn (the older Kostitsyn) on the power play, and with about 5:30 left in regulation, the Habs take a 2-1 lead on the Devils!
OMG... *sobs* MUPPET!!!???!!! Muppet just went into the boards... and is being nearly carried off the ice and down the walkway to the dressing room. He apparently got an assist on a goal and the next play went into the boards. *sobs* Muppet???
Colorado leads, 3-1 on two goals from Ryan Smyth and the recently scored with the assist from the now-injured Muppet. Please let him be okay. At least it's his leg/knee and not his shoulder. It's like... I'm not thankful he's hurt, but I'm glad it's a lower extremity rather than his shoulder again.
Two minutes left in regulation in Montreal, Habs still up by one. Down to a minute. The fans are crazy loud. They've been screaming since the 2 minute mark or earlier. Half a minute now... Gionta... save Price! A scrum develops in front, Langenbrunner in the middle of it... Brodeur just watching from the bench since he's been pulled for the extra attacker. The pileup in front of the net... and haha.. Price just wanders out of the crease, away from the whole thing. *L*
Komisarek sits for the Canadiens out of all that... and Elias sits for the Devils... so it's four-on-four, five-on-four since the Devils have the empty net.
And that's that! Montreal is in sole possession of 1st place in the East! And jump from 4th to 1st seed with the win, dropping Ottawa to the 4th seed. And the fans are showing their appreciation here at Le Centre Bell. They know what was at stake, they know what their team just accomplished.
Muppet says he's sorry I saw him get hurt. (welcome to my world of hockey insanity. don't ask.) But he's glad I know.
oh FUCK! Smyth just got sent into the edge of the glass, and he's down, not moving, not getting up... they've got the stretcher out for him, and they're getting him strapped onto the stretcher. Oh holy FUCK. And they're sliding the stretcher off the ice... they've got his head immobilized... now they're lifting him out of the ice area and towards an ambulance.
Word on Muppet is a knee injury, and he's doubtful to return.
Jesus... just when things were starting to look so good with Sakic coming back and Stastny back, and Forsberg signing...
Matchbox 20 and Alanis Morissette at the Pavilion in San Jose. Damn this getting to see the local commercials! *L*
All the games are going to shit! *L* Laperriere is going after Johnson in the Colorado game... and Dan Eliis is down behind the net in the Nashville game, and of course that's created a pileup because anytime a goalie gets hurt, it's a team problem. And I'm still waiting for Shelley and King to dance again.
And Calgary/Phoenix starts at 10pm.
Report on Smyth is that he was walking and talking after they got him off the ice, and he is on his way to the hospital, but he's conscious and coherent, and ambulatory. So it appears Smyth will be A-Ok, so now the concern turns more towards Muppet and the "knee injury". Hopefully it's no worse than Marian Hossa's, and he won't miss more than a week or so. Unfortunately with his luck... (and mine.. I have him on my fantasy team), he'll be out for some extended period of time. *sniffles*
Jose Theodore? Yeah. He's got that.
And Joe Sakic adds another for Colorado, assists to Laperriere and Leopold, and that gives the Avs a 4-1 lead, and a smile on their faces with good news about Smyth.
Nashville leads Dallas, 1-0 in the third... San Jose is still holding on to a 1-0 lead over St. Louis, and Phoenix/Calgary will have the puck dropped momentarily.
Mmmmm... Daniel Carcillo with his helmet off during the singing of the National Anthems. Mmmmm... *L* My Mr. Carcillo. *L*
CuJo starts for the Flames, and that's Bryzgalov for the Coyotes. And they drop the puck in Glendale, Arizona. I will be back... I must go flip between other channels now. *L* It's bad when 3 teams I like are all playing at once. *L*
Nashville now leads Dallas 3-1... San Jose/St. Louis is in the 2nd intermission and I just got to watch Eric Johnson bowling. *L* And he's sitting there waiting for his turn and he says "This is how Brad Boyes sits before every game." (and he sits with his arms folded over his chest, a very serious look on his face) "And this is what he's thinking... I'm so good. Why don't you pass me the puck more often?" Silly hockey players all being so hot! Johnson's like... what? 18? *scrubs brain*
It's one thing having inappropriate thoughts of Brian Campbell. He's a few months younger than I am. Crosby? Eric Johnson? It's like... robbing the cradle. They're years younger than I am.
Oh awesome. The crowd in Colorado is chanting "We want Forsberg... We want Forsberg..."
Oh... I took a bath last night. It was Absolutely Delightful. :) (yes, I used the Absolute Delight)... I mixed it with some Comforter Bubble Bar... and soaked for an hour or so... and it was rather lovely and the water was beautifully pink.
*g* I love how they're singing Theodore's praises now. *L* They're talking about how good he is and how glad the Avs are that they stuck with him. *L* I almost want to laugh, because yes, he is keeping them in games, and he's having a good season. But... thing is? He's not even half as good as he could be. Where he's at right now, is not halfway to where he was when he won the Vezina. I'd love to hear what they'd be saying about him if he hits that level again. He's still working on confidence and he's still getting comfortable with this concept of having defense, real defense in front of him. *L* Seriously, he's far improved from where he was, but he isn't back to the level he was at a few years ago in Montreal. I'd love to see him get back there. Where nothing was going past him. Nothing.
Jordan Leopold gets 3rd star... Ruslan Salei gets 2nd star... and 1st star goes to Ryan Smyth in absentia. And bwahahaha... the announcer is interviewing Salei and he starts off with "I think Ruslan Salei will fit in just fine here in Colorado. He saw me out here and he said ' you again? '."
San Jose up now, 2-0 with 13:55 left in the third period. And no Shelley/King rematch yet. *pouts*
Nashville/Dallas is a 3-1 final... Colorado/Los Angeles is a 5-2 final... Calgary is out to an early 2-0 on Phoenix.
Oh... I got a good laugh out of this today. I was at the supermarket, and in the soda aisle they have all the regular sodas, the waters, the sports drinks, the diet sodas... and then... they have the "sugar free soda". Uh... what? Isn't that the same as diet soda? Or essentially the same? I mean... if diet soda had sugar in it, it would have calories, and therefore wouldn't be considered 'diet'. But yes. There's regular soda, diet soda, and now, sugar-free soda!
When does San Jose play Anaheim? I want to see how physical that game is going to be. (Lindy: please observe Anaheim. They play a physical game, and WIN!) That's something good about the Soupy trade. It's likely that in San Jose, he'll be allowed to utilize his full game, which includes a physical game, because he has the size and he can play the body. (ask RJ Umberger if you're not quite sure about that)
Michalek on a breakaway and shanks it. Genius Michalek. When you have the goalie beat, don't shank it. :)
ajk af;ljd... Christian Ehrhoff. *drools* Gah. Stupid Aryan German men who play hockey! Damn them for being so hot!
Oh lordy... the playoffs? They can start today? Wow... the 1st round matchups if nothing changed? I might need to take 2 weeks off from work because the games themselves would just have me all hot and bothered. *L* Matchups if they started today?
--Colorado v. Detroit. No comment necessary.
--Vancouver v. Dallas. Anyone going to argue seeing Turco vs. Luongo round 2? I didn't think so.
--Minnesota v. Calgary. Ok, well every round of the playoffs needs a series of crap.
--Anaheim v. San Jose. Mmmm... just a great matchup all around, I think.
--Montreal v. Philadelphia. It'd be a good series, though I'd think Montreal would be coming out on top.
--New Jersey v. NY Rangers. See Colorado v. Detroit.
--Ottawa v. Pittsburgh. The rivalry continues.
--Carolina v. Boston. I think they play similar styles, and that's always a good matchup.
"Nobody's thinking about that empty net unless it's there." This was said though while the net was empty. *boggles*
Soupy goes to sit for two due to sending the puck over the glass. Automatic delay of game. There's all of 14 seconds left on the clock though, and the Sharks are up 2-0, so that's a pretty harmless penalty.
And Brian Boucher gets a shutout in his Sharks debut. ABOOO shay??? And he's still wearing his Phantoms gear. *L* Evil orange eyes on a black goalie mask with a Sharks sweater. *L* Classic. And Soupy. Oh Soupy.
Ok. THAT'S awesome. How come they don't do that here? They just showed the mites on ice in Phoenix... and there was a Coyote's player on the bench leaning over the boards cheering on the kids. That's pretty awesome. :) I give props to that player. :)
Oh who's close to being the Flames leading scorer? Hurt him. Fast. Trade him. Deport him. Something. Anything. Especially if it's Iginla. I do not want Iginla passing Unholy Theo for Flames leading scorer.
Grrr. Of course it's Iginla. HAHA! YAYE BRYZGALOV!!! Iginla gets a breakaway to tie Fleury, and Bryzgalov just gloves it like those old Wings a'la Roy saves. Haha, Iginla. DENIED!
Ok... off with me until Detroit v. Buffalo tomorrow.
...wait... we have a review of a waved off goal... but before the review happens, Phoenix scored. So the Phoenix goal may be for naught and all the time will have to be replayed should the review come back to show the Calgary goal was indeed a goal. It was rolling past Byrzgalov, who couldn't find it, and Jovanovski came in to bat it away, so they're looking to see if the rolling puck fully crossed the line before Jovanovski sent it out.
Verdict: No goal for Calgary, so the Phoenix goal counts, and they don't need to replay all that time. But that was a close call. The puck very nearly did cross the line.
