Since leather is normally not labeled, you never really know where (or whom) it came from.
For those of you in the Islamic faith, if your going to wear leather, read your labels and find out which types of leather come from which animals. It's a pain in the butt reading every label that comes your way but it would be haram not to make sure your staying away from pig by-products. Try buying all your leather at stores which only sell halal products.
