OK. I'm officially organizing an NWN based RP Campaign.
I am calling in the following people, if you wish to engage for a while (I'm seriously thinking one night a week when we can all gather it up under normal circumstances and get some game on). Anyone ELSE who can read this is welcome to join the bash provided you've got the game. Seriously. The more, the merrier. My system can serve up to 10 players at once without failure, provided my router's not acting up.
Wulfsbane : We've been talking it up, let's roll with it.
Doodler : It's been too long, and you know your RP. I'd love you have you if you are willing to join in.
Tricia : We've discussed it.
Other people who have expressed some intrest and may or may not join in the festivities :
Necomancer
Aurora
Tricia's Boyfriend
The following is what we're running under : the MINIMUM game requirements are going to be : Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, Community Expansion Pack v. 1.53, and PROBABLY the Player Resource Consortium's pack, most recent possible version. There may be additional files required, I will provide these to players as needed.
The module options we have are as follows :
Classic P&P Conversions -
The Hallowed HillsHidden Shrine of Tamoachan v2.6 Other "Standard fare"
The Dragon's TeethValley of ShadowsThe Last Inn Less standard fare - very heavy RP and a less 'normal' campaign setting ...
Tales of CeltsTales of Celts II If you're interested, leave me a note here with a little info : when you are availible to run, what you most want to play in terms of a module (Yes, you can suggest something other than what's listed here), and your favored class(es). I'll compile this and see if we can't reach a consensus on game date, game time, and party composition. ^_^
I am also going to clarify the following : I am NOT DMing this. I acknowledge that I am taking a few DM powers and can take more on an as-needed basis as the organizer and guy running the server (Provided there is a general agreement that I should take a given power), but I am going to make this clear : I'm playing WITH all of you as a PC. The modules I'm using are all well enough scripted so that there is no DM intervention required. I also can't use any DM powers on myself at any time, without a VERY clear agreement by everyone else that I am to do so.
With that said, I am reserving the following rights as organizer, with the limitations listed.
#1 : After a session, there will be a call to nominate a best 3 RPers from that session. These people will get an XP bonus. I cannot be given an XP Bonus by this method unless it is a unanimous vote. I don't expect that to happen.
#2 : If someone consistently acts entirely out of alignment, I will call for a vote from the other players. If it is agreed that the person is not playing to alignment, then the player's alignment will be shifted by DM power. If it's NOT in the spirit of RP, there will also be an XP Penalty assessed (Good guys sometimes fall, bad guys redeem themselves, that's allowable and won't be penalized. Hell, it should get you an XP Bonus for good RP).
#3 : BLUEBOOKING IS IN EFFECT. This is the one where I am the sole judge, and is mostly me stealing a pure DM fiat power for my own enjoyment and also for your benefit. If you backstory your character well enough, I will award you with a bonus level at the start of the entire epic. This is a one-shot deal. If you don't want to give yourself a backstory? That's fine, you can be mysterious. If you want to partially detail yourself? You will likely find your XP bumped to halfway to the next level. Please note, unless you post it openly, I won't be sharing backstories - they are, after all, "Not Character Knowledge". The reason for this is actually twofold. #1 : if your character has a good backstory, you will be more deeply involved in thier advancement. This is a benefit to everyone. #2 : If your character has a good history, they have good personality. I will definately let blanks play ... but they're not as much fun to play with. Floaters are not exempted from this : a person joining in later or who is going to float into and out of the story is just as eligable for the one-shot bluebook bonus as people who are always in the game.
Finally, if anyone who replies to this actually has a good module that they want to DM, I will make that an option. Please try and limit the module to only utterly necessary files and the PRC, CEP, and standard expansions.
