And now - more pictures...

Friday
Met bartholdy and her friend Katrine at Metropolitan where time was spent. The exhibition about superheroes and fashion was really interesting, so was pretty much everything else. They had three Jeff Koons statues on the roof. The hot hot hot roof. Yoy could probably fry eggs on them pretty well. I bet people have tried and were banned from them Met forever.

Me and heart wrapped in cellophane. That sounds suspiciiously much like a pop song. The cellophane heart part.

Not just any art...

...Louis V. art!

It's a Lichtenstein and black and yellow and therefore SO ME!

After walking around in the museum we went to Starbucks and talked about European politics.
On the picure I am showing off my favourite lunch menu. I felt accidentally rebellious every time I got a brewed coffee or an espresso shot at Starbucks.

Vignette: things I liked about New York
STARBUCKS. Of course, it nearly impossible to explain the myth of Starbucks in the mind of a young Swede going to America. On my brain, it's mapped somewhere close to "IKEA is cool outside Sweden. IKEA is known for funny, innovative and, once again, cool advertising outside Sweden. Do they even advertise in Sweden?". Going to Starbucks and getting a huuuuuge paper cup of coffee with a million weird flovours and sugared fat on top is on the to do-list of 95% of Swedish kids going to America. I don't care much for that kind of coffee and didn't even get one just because, but still, I was very aware of my coffee being from not just anywhere, but Starbucks. I felt very

We walked around Central Park thinking of what to do with our futures.

And then we took the subway to foodz. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture of this ad, I never had a good photo opportunity, not that time and not later. The link is bekanyenow.com. We dined at a French restaurant and then we all went home.

Saturday

Had pancakes for breakfast. Banana and chocolate chip pancakes.

I don't have much pictures of that day, but we went to MoMA (wooooonderful museum store!) and then we wanted to go to Whitney too, but it was closing soon. We decided to split up and then meet again later for dinner and clubbing. Cellie, Rebecca and I went to Cellie's place, watched Fred Phelps - the Musical, went out again to meet the girls for a dinner in a very nice Brazilian place. Since Priscilla, the only local of us, doesn't do much clubbing, we had to rely on the recommendations from her friends and ended up at a place playing, um... some kind of funky nts-nts-music? No idea what it's called. Anyway, it was okay, but not really what we wanted out of life. So we went home. Decided to look for clubs that played indie or bad pop music online and go later, buit never did. Soooo... clubbing - kinda check.

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from that day.

Saturday is caturday!

Sunday

On Sunday Cellie, Rebecca and I went to Brooklyn!

Me and Bridge! Like in the poem! I would have loved to walk on it, but it was such a hot day that I didn't quite feel like the rest of the crew would appreciate that nearly as much as I, and I now have something to return for =) Instead, we lined for delicious ice-cream and bought it and were very satisfied.
Soooooo, Brooklyn Bridge - check!

We were really supposed to go to the botanical gardens and an exhibition, but the subway was confusing and we just walked. I'm happy we did because it was a very nice walk, full of photo-opportunity and discovery! For example, I have now, after having been in New York twice, see the Statue of Liberty!

And this is either a reference to Kimagure Orange Road or to Engineering Physics at KTH, you choose!

And this is a FALLOUT SHELTER!!!!!

Orange Street was right next to Pineapple Street. moondog died and went to heaven.

We walked by Brooklyn Library that had allegories all over the walls. Being a former student of KT "Science and art" H I had to show my appreciation for...

...science...

...and art!
(Posture, idiot, posture... -_-)

After not going to the botanical gardens, we decided to go to the WTC site and see what was going on. A hole in the ground was going on. Next to it, there was a baloon statue, and unlike the ones on the Metropolitan roof, this one was up for grabs. We have sooo many self-timer pictures. Here is one of mine.

And here is another glamourous example of matching of Vitamin Water. This time it matches the statue.

And here am I all tiny and pitiful because no one will hug me because I don't vote...

...after taking the picture we all realized I DO in fact vote. But not in America. So I can't vote for Oo-oh-oooooohbama!

After that we went home and, uh, watched the PQ concert? Or did we watch Reefer Madness? Don't remember.
