Nose-slime and eyecandy

My cold
This is some weird cold. They usually progress in the same way.
1. Hurts to swallow
2. Dry throat that you tear up by coughing
3. Slime arrives, you cough up slimeballs
Now it can either move up or down. If it moves down, you get bronchitis. This one moved up.
4. Transparent nose-slime
5. Green nose-slime
6. DONE!

So, this is your ordinary cold. MY ordinary cold, at least. And this one follows the usual progression, but it doesn't really follow the normal fever-curve and the normal how-bad-I-feel-curve. Because normally, you have fever at 2-3, and you don't feel more and more unable to live a normal life the further it progresses (unless it moves downwards and you get pneumonia). This one is really trying to kill me. I've spent 2-4 with a constant slight fever of just above 37 °C, and feeling worse and worse. When I try to sleep with fever, I often can't sleep normally, and get stuck in one train of thought that just goes round and round in my head and I'm aware of it, but I can't escape it. This is how I spent both weekend nights. Without any fever to speak of. Yesterday, I was so weak after not being quite in one piece for a coiple of weeks and not having slept properly for two nights, that I was exhausted after a ten minute walk. And then, in the middle of stage 4, I get 38 °C-fever. Teh fuck?!
At least I slept okay tonight, despite the fever. And I feel okay now, but I'm still rather immobile. Still ahven't transcended to 5. SO GOOD that I am not going to any kindergarten things today! Stangel says he's never seen me in such a bad shape before. Quite possible. I certainly feel that way.

Videos
Stangel and I have started watching morning MTV again, to keep ourselves updated. Today's video rec is Sturm Und Drang by The Rising Son. Not because it's good or anything, but the video contains a hot nun and lots of schoolboys who are clearly wearing make-up (JOHANNEALERT)(not like she hasn't more important things to think about right now). I was a little worried that you wouldn't be able to see teh lipgloss in youtube's poor quality... but NOTHING can kill teh lipgloss.
Christina Aguilera's new single is Candyman. Minus point for missing out on the opportunity to paint a pin-up Christina on one of the planes (seriously, you have planes and you have a pinupesque Aguilera, and you don't combine???), plus points for the the Rosie the Riveter-reference (please tell me it is!), the choice of song to make a single and for Christina Aguilera being the only one of the modern pop girls who can pull off the oldschool pinup thing. One day I'll write a proper post about my Christina love.
And while Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape isn't really new, it's still fun to watch. Playing spot-the-G in it is as much fun (and just as rewarding) as playing spot-the-swastika in Der Fuhrer's Face (I know it used to be on YouTube, but I guess Disney didn't approve).
