Scanner the cat

Nov 26, 2006 14:10

If I'll ever have a cat (I won't), I'll call it CanoScan LiDE 20, Scanner for short. Because as it is now, my workplace is so ergonomic, that when I scan I have to pick the scanner up and hold it in my lap. And it's warm and it purrs.

rl, stupid

they have red green and blue LED lights rather than one white fluorescent bulb. I thought all of the LiDE line were like that, but i"m not sure. The LED ones are supposed to be lower quality, but I want to compare for myself. They're a whole bunch smaller and you don't have to plug them in (get voltage through a USB cord) and a little tiny bit cheaper.

Mine is USB-powered, but I think it has one white bulb. Hm.

Maybe it's just some of them then. These seem to all be led, judging from the low resolutions and the going on about the "LOL ONE CABLE!!" http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=119

this is the technical name it seems: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_Image_Sensor

Jag tror att det är de där bildläsarna som har noll skärpedjup. Duger till papper men inte till tredimensionella föremål.
