So the past week or so have been super hectic.
Last week, another 26 people bit the dust. Well technically, not all 26 yet, but that will be the total #. 12 people from my office are gone, our entire North Cal team is gone (7 folks), minus one guy who's on a 'on call' basis. The others were remote people, plus another 4 or 5 will be 'phased out'. Nice. I'm happy to report, I'm still employed. I have a huge project ahead. They want me to rent out the entire building. The last oh 15 people here will be moved to our building across the street, leaving space open to create revenue. That's going to be tricky. I had great luck thus far, but it's been a stand still for 3 weeks straight. The market and economy are not on my side. Meanwhile, I'm still sorta actively looking for employment. I'm applying to places that seem worthwhile, and positions I actually/want to get into.
At home, our bathroom is under major reconstruction. Finally after years, my dad got off his rump to complete the remodel. After this bathroom and the patio, our house will be complete minus a few new items of furniture (like a dining set) and some kitchen appliances, we're all there. Nice.
Easter was really nice yesterday. We had brunch at Danny's grandma's in the morning til the mid afternoon. Lots of mimosa's and yummy food. I really enjoy their family time. Everyone is so warm, and I'm still getting to know everyone, but I love them all. Then after that, we went back to my house for dinner. Too much food for one day, but it was yummy. Danny especially loves to eat at my house. Then after that, in the evening we attempted to go to the movies, but the Picture was closed. Lame. So we went home and watched American Gangster. The movie is way long, and I didn't finish it, so it's to be continued.
I'm excited for this weekend. I'm having my acrylics removed. I've been sporting nails for about a year and a half straight now and I just want a break. I'll have them put back on in the summer. I just don't know if I'll do it in the beginning of summer, or wait for Natalie's wedding in August. Dilemmas, dilemmas. LOL. Her official date is August 17th. I'm excited. It's going to be a super fun experience, plus a major learning experience for me as well. Natalie has me knee deep in details, and we're constantly looking at things, etc. So I'm hoping this will be good training for my own planning some day. Bill made it official and proposed to Natalie on Saturday, in Canada. Yay.
I'm in the market for a new beach cruiser. Danny and I spent the entire day on Saturday shopping for bikes, and the only conclusion I came to is, SHIT, Cruisers are effing expensive! I'm not particular about brand, but I want a certain color and look. Fenders a must, I really wanted a certain color, and definitely a 3 speed. So I'm shopping online, and decided on a bike, but I have to give up the color I really wanted, but I think ultimately, for what we're paying, etc, I'll be super happy. Funk named brands. The bike I fell in love with, two toned, white and baby blue, fenders, but a single speed was 319 bucks! No thanks. I'm hoping I can make the purchase today.
I think that's about it for now. ta-ta!
