it's christmas time!
i just came back from davis and now i'm at my mom's house. i barely got back down and i'm already bored. -_-
kevin and i didn't do much for our birthday this year. we were up north and no one was around. we went out to eat and got a free ice cream sundae. we went out the next day to mikuni's and got some free mochi and candy. =) while we were walking back to our car from dinner, this police car in the mall parking lot suddenly turned on his sirens. i thought he was.. iono, just roaming about or something, but he was driving a tad bit fast in the parking lot for me to be comfortable. while i was thinking what a horrible cop he was for driving so fast, he turned into the lane we were walking down and at that same time there was some commotion ahead of us. turned out, there was a guy that was running from security/police. a poor minivan was stuck right in the middle of it all because the 4 or 5 cops chased down the guy right behind the minivan while the police car parked right in front of the van. heh. poor guy. the cops were mean, but i suppose there was good reason to be. he was either shoplifting or vandalizing cars or something. it was wet on the road too because it had rained and they were all laying on the ground. i overheard the cop ask "why'd you try to run" and the guy said "because i didn't want to get in trouble." and the cop goes "because you're a punk!" =( poor boy.
i didn't work as much as i wanted to because subfinder called in the morning instead of at night.. and honestly i didn't want to wake up in the morning and rush to the school to sub. i did on tuesday,.. and it turned out to be some random literacy teacher. i sat for an hour (getting paid by the way) and then had a class of 6 students. it was fun. on friday, the last day of school before the holidays, i subbed at a 4th grade class at my school. it was.. overwhelming. 35 fourth graders, compared to my 20 third graders, with lots of cupcakes, sugar, and all being in party mode was just a tad bit crazy. towards the end of the day, one of the boys got mad and punched another guy in the face. *_* argh. silly boy. i forgot how to use the phone so i couldn't even call the v.p, i just sent the boy over. -_- but really, why would you want to get in trouble on the last day of school right before Christmas holiday?
i got presents from my kids. ^_^ i also got tons of birthday cards from them. i was surprised, but then, if one student gives me something, the rest of the usually follow suit. heh. i like my students. they aren't horrible. and they really are good kids. they just.. hate me. or something. *_*
we decided not to go to s.f. to see people and have them pay for our birthday dinner so we just left friday night. it's christmas eve today. it doesn't even feel like christmas time. it's so warm. and lonely. no tree. and no shopping. no presents either, but mostly because i've already opened it all. we don't do wrapping anymore. we just give. hehe. -_- oh well. a bunch of people are going to vegas. i think kevin and i are going to take my brother and his girlfriend to disneyland instead. =) we will bother them. hehehe.
i realized i still haven't finished my philosophy statement yet. -_- argh. i should get that done before the quarter starts. /sigh.
went to church today. all the little kids are so tall now. i feel so old. i'm 24 this year. 24! kevin's 23. =T this sucks. i'm 24 and i still get charged underage fee for renting a car. my brother thought that he could drive with me in the car but he can't until i'm 25. there's nothing to look forward to anymore. nothing! just turning 25. then 30, 40, 50. =(
well. happy birthday to me.
and merry christmas to everyone else. =) doesn't the holiday season seem less and less .. prominent? besides the shopping. that, i think, just gets worse year after year. =T
