Thank you to everyone who spammed me with some of the hottest pictures of JIN. *____* It was a great boost and the fic is now done. *does happy dance*
Yuukan Club! I am waiting anxiously for torrents (while at work) so I can dl when I get home and watch it. *____* JIIIIIIN.
Speaking of Jin and Yuukan Club, I pre-ordered KAT-TUN's new single. Yes, wifey, I know. But! The theme song to Yuukan Club is written by
Kyosuke Himuro. He's the one that did Answer with GLAY and did a joint 2 day concert with them. And I LOVE THAT SONG. I really liked the PV they did too. *____* So yeah, the new KAT-TUN single is ordered and I have yet to hear it but I heard it was more rock and I am flaily with glee. Also I ordered their concert dvd because I collect concert dvds. *facepalms*
And speaking of wifey, I got your package! *FLAILS* THE PATI PATI WITH GLAY ON THE FRONT COVER. *____________* *FLAILS* GLAY. YOU BOUGHT ME GLAY.
A highlight of my evening yesterday was when of my friends told me I was looking very "svelte". I've been trying to shed some weight and have been thinking that I've plateaued and need to do something different. So when he said that, it made my night. Especially since I want to look really good for
veilsdegto's wedding next year.
I booked my flights to LA and Seattle. So I will be in LA on Dec. 1 - 2 and not in the middle of November like I had originally planned. I got a better price point with Southwest on that weekend. Also, I got a fantastic deal to fly to Seattle on my birthday weekend to see
shinigamitabris,
elise_maxwell, and
kenaressa. SO EXCITED.
Also, work sucks. :|

1. ballroom dancing
I love dancing and I got into ballroom dancing from my best guy friend (whom I call my big bro and is the dad of my godson). We've known each other for years and he got into it and needed a dance partner. So I started learning from him. Then I started learning how to lead and ended up co-teaching ballroom classes for my city's local adult education center for 4 1/2 years.
We get together with friends and family to watch Dancing With the Stars and Heroes every Monday night. And I really enjoy it a lot. Especially if we end up going to the same weddings. Then it's ON.
2. brian joo
Brian Joo is one half of the duo, FLY TO THE SKY. He's an American-born Korean pop singer. I first heard of their music when I was in college and got into Kpop. I lost a bit of interest when I got into American alternative music but getting into Jpop brought me full circle back to Kpop and Brian has always been one of my long time favorites (along with KangTa and Jang Woo Hyuk. *___* ). He can dance, sing, rap, and MC. He's a goofy guy and shows up on a lot of Korean variety shows and is a fantastic MC, hosting Music Core for the last year and a half. He's totally goofy and hot and I really like it when he sings hip hop more than the ballads. But I do love his voice as he is a fantastic singer.
Also, he gets less love since Hwanhee, his partner in Fly to the Sky, is seen as a better singer. He gets a lot of flack and has insecurity issues since he's talked about singing on a program where someone was like "oh, you sang well." and then went over to gush and fawn all over Hwanhee in front of him. D:
My mom really likes Fly to the Sky and her current favorite is Eru, who's a fantastic kpop singer who graduated from the Berklee School of Music and looks to Brian as a big brother/mentor type. So cute.
3. east coast swing
My favorite of the ballroom dances is the Hustle. But I also love E.C.Swing with it's big band style and jumps and flips and just the sheer fun in the dance. I love fast dances and East Coast Swing can be done with either a triple step or single step, depending on the pace. It's great fun and lots of fancy hand work and spins like the pretzel. I love the costumes for the dance with the poodle skirts and bright red lipstick and bobby socks. SO CUTE.
4. hair sticks
I have fairly long hair (although I just chopped a lot of it off) but I don't like having my hair in my face which is why I put it up most of the time. I do a french twist and use hair sticks or pretty chopsticks to hold my hair up. I also had gotten into
kanzashi or
the beautiful Japanese hair sticks/combs that the Geisha normally wear. They're really pretty and I like pretty things. :D
5. red hot chili jalapeños
This is something that Ogata Ryuichi said in It's In The Stars DVD. He introduces himself as Mark Frusciante, a member of the Red Hot Chili Jalapeños. Ryuichi is a huge RHCP fan and him doing this in a monologue in front of the camera is hilarious. He loves rock music and is a total spazz. I love him a lot.
6. revolushoon
This is all
mousaPelli's fault. One day, she said, "JEMZ. You have to see this adorable junior in Ya-Ya-yah! He does Jin's hip rolls! He does Jin's TONGUE THING!!" I watched and was hooked onto him and his shy, adorable smile. Although I admit I was dragged kicking and screaming into the "RevoluSHOON" as mousaPi calls it, I freely admit that Shoon is one of my favorite Juniors (which also include Toma and Fujigaya).
7. royal order
Royal Order is an LA-based jewelry company that does a lot a jewelry for Jrock/Jpop stars as well as big name music stars in the States like Usher.
shinigamitabris,
lady_gemma,
kenaressa, and I were in Shibuya to look for a very particular pendant Tabs wanted that was a near exact match for the necklace that Ogata Ryuichi (her favorite member of w-inds. and really, her favorite Japanese idol. PERIOD.) wore in a photo shoot. I bought a similar pendant (
THIS ONE with a white pearl, to be exact) and I've been wearing it ever since. It's one of my favorite pieces of jewelry since I have a lot of good memories attached to it.
kenaressa bought a gorgeous ring and I am half tempted to go to the Beverley Hills store to see if they have it or
this ring which I originally wanted.
