I figured out why the yogurt here is so delicious. (Not that I don't think Yoplait Light is yummie, which is what I eat for breakfast during the work week.) This stuff has whole milk and whipping cream. So healthy! Haha. But I still eat it, of course. I'm on vacation anyways.
So yesterday in the country of Scotland...
pyjamagurl and I ventured to Stirling Castle. (Pictures of everything will arrive after I get back home, by the way.) I made her walk up and down stairs again. Mwahahaha. Guess I can be evil some time, no? (I ♥ you,
pyjamagurl!) There were stairs along one side of the castle wall that had some pretty neat views.
The Royal Palace in the castle looked like it would have been sooo pretty in its heyday. It doesn't seem like it was as ornate as other places I saw when I was staying in Salzburg, but it really would've been neat. They're actually fixing it up right now. There was one room that a sign told us to look up at the ceiling for holes where these ornamental wooden things used to be, but when we did that, all we saw was wood beams. Haha. Apparently, the palace had been stripped for military use at one point. I don't know when though.
Another smaller building was originally used as quarters for certain military men, and then it was converted into a prison. This is a small building, by the way. Inside one of the rooms, they showed a tool used for flogging. Ouch! But in another room that was set up to look like a jail cell, I looked around the corner and got a little shock after seeing a dummy sitting there. Eek. I was laughed at, of course. Hehe. It really wasn't that bad, but I just wasn't expecting it. And I'm too curious not to look.
The castle was really neat though. I love walking around old places like that. So much history in Europe! Sure beats living in an area that's only been around for 150 years. That's young compared to all this!
After the castle, we went back to the house and visited with
pyjamagurl's relatives. Her mom was having a birthday party. (Her birthday is tomorrow actually.)
pyjamagurl's family is so nice. :D We also had some yummie snackie foods and birthday cake. The cake was sooo adorable. I almost feel like I should have taken a picture of it. *feels like
rainymemories* There's actually some left and another cake.
We also did some planning last night. For which, I got kinda frustrated a few times. Hehe. I kept my cool... for the most part. ;) But I was looking at the Edinburgh map, and I think we kind of have that semi-settled for when everyone else gets here. We also decided what we're going to do until then.
Today, we hope to go out to Queensferry to see the Forth Railway Bridge and Inchcolm Abbey. And then we'll go into Edinburgh and do a few things that are located away from the Royal Mile. The other two days, I think we are going out to the Trossachs and St. Andrews. (That's on different days, mind you.) Should be lots of fun!
So that's what's going on here. Hope you're not missing me too much! Haha. Just kidding. *huggles*
