is this anti tipping or pro tipping....like you want tips? or you can't tip?
after spending several years waiting tables, i have become of the frame of mind that if you are in a position not to tip, then it might be wise to order out and find a nice place to eat, say, at a park or something, or to go somewhere where tips are not the source of the food bringer to you's income.
however, i do understand that sometimes you can get dragged out with friends without much money to tip. in which case, it might be wise to take turns tipping. i don't know.
some people are of the frame of mind that people who work for tips should find another job. sometimes, though, the fact that they get tipped for good service is a real motivator. i do well in such a position b/c i know that to make good money, i have to do well. Commission is kind of along the same lines, except it's paid out by the company and not the patrons. Food would probably cost considerably more if they had to pay people extra instead of tipping them. Then, you'd be forced to pay the tip anyway for what would probably be pretty shitty service, since the money will always be the same regardless of how the employee behaves. It's all up for argument, though.
