Sparkling

Wow, so much has happened that I need to update about. Yesterday I received my furious financial aid check and immediately began to concoct ways to blow it. I moseyed to the bank and deposited it and ran into my estranged friends Kandi and Afton. They apologized for the previous night's big ditch and treated me to Subway. Well, no .. I paid - but it was fine cause I had some cash for a change. I got my textbooks at long last, and waited around for Afton to get out of class. In that time I nearly bought a les paul vintage mahogany online. I decided to refrain so we could go to I.F. and shop around and see what potential there was closer to home. Big mistake. We went to Chesbros music and I fell head over heals in love with a Gibson SG. $1,100 was all it cost, and it played like a silky dream. I couldn't put it down, the action was amazing, the distortion full, sustain flowing, and clean absolutely sparkled. The only thing lacking was a certain "Sterling" quality. By that I mean, it wasn't unique. Tons of people have SGs and they look just like that. I need something a little more special I guess. Hopeful that special guitar will play the same way. Oh my. I'm grateful my friends were there to tell me to put it down and wait a week before buying it because I had the means. Never encountered such a temptation before in my life, I was unprepared.
When I got back I did make the purchase of the les paul, with full intent of sending it back once I've given it a test spin. I can do so much with $800. If I get another nice pell check in the mail for fall semester, however .. Something will be mine.
Now . Today.. I did very little. Went grocery shopping. Watched mst3k with some friends. Played a lot of guitar. Looks like this will be the story of the holiday weekend. Next week though.. fun fun times.
