This was going to be a huge rant/update on my life, but then I realized it was so dull and boring, that I was falling asleep writing it. So instead, here is to the chem final tomorrow, and to the rest week of tests, some flash fic. :)
~*~Lungs - Florence and the Machine
Bill was covered in a shimmering gold. It stretched all along his body, and picked him up off the ground, letting him fly. But Tom was left on the ground, and that wouldn’t do. When Bill reached down to pick his brother up, to take him on this wonderful flight with him, into the stars, around the moon, and between the rays of the sun, Tom wouldn't soar, no matter how hard Bill tugged to get his brother going and demanded that Tom fly with him.
"You're not flying," Tom said. Bill frowned, and dropped his feet back down onto the ground. His boots hit with a click, and the jewelry on his wrists jingled. "You weren't flying," Tom said again, and that made Bill really sad. "You can't fly."
Bill shook his head, and refused to believe his brother. Tom wasn’t glowing like Bill was, so maybe that was the problem. Bill shined like the stars, so he belonged next to them. Because Tom didn't glow, Tom couldn’t go among the stars. Tom didn't think he could get there, so he wouldn't get there.
Bill frowned and tried to push the glow from him to his twin, because Bill wouldn’t fly away without Tom, even though he wanted to, wanted to so badly to sing next to the stars. Tom clasped a hand onto Bill’s arm, and Bill watched the gold wink out. He didn’t glow anymore, and weight settled heavily on him.
Bill’s eyes cleared. “Oh,” he said, looking at Tom. “Sorry…” Bill pulled awkwardly away from his brother, the only one who kept him grounded anymore.

Walking on Air - Keli
Joe wanted to be a tight rope walker he decided. How cool would that be? Being able to walk along the telephone wires and balance on almost nothing? He could travel between buildings like a little criminal, and if the music business ever truly failed him, then he could become a crook and tight rope walk across the wires between buildings and sneak inside.
He could totally take the jewelry then, palm it off somewhere to make bukoo-bucks. It would be awesome, like in all those movies. Lots of thrill and cool suits like George Clooney wore in Ocean’s Thirteen.
But Joe could only do it if Nick would do it with him. Joe wasn't very good all alone at anything, or well, he didn't like when he was all alone. Nothing felt as cool unless Nick was with him. Nick with his quirky long words.
Joe proposed the idea to Nick about how they should learn how to be tight rope walkers, so that if the music business ever went under, than they would have something to fall back on. Nick shook his head and laughed. "I don't think we'd ever have to do that."
“But what if we had to?"
"We wouldn't."
"But wouldn't it be cool to know how to walk like that?"
"Dangerous. You'd probably end up breaking your neck. You're so clumsy."
"Yeah, I guess. But it's, it's kind of like you're flying, you know? So high up, just floating on nothing."
Nick shook his head. "You know, as long as there's me with you, we won't have to do resort to robbing to make a living. We'll get by in other ways."
Joe shrugged, then decided that if Nick ever did leave him, the tightrope walking would be what he did. But he would never, ever want Nick to leave. Joe didn't pursue the tight rope walking, because it was for when Nick wasn't there with him. And Nick was definitely with Joe.
