Small lapse in safety-mindedness got my thumb nipped by the tablesaw this afternoon. Fortunately I had just switched it off so the blade was slowed. The piece of wood I was cutting tipped up from the table, my thumb slipped off and grazed the edge of the spinning blade. It mangled the shit out of my glove (already much the worse for wear in building the workshop) and tore up a bit of flesh on the ball of my thumb. Bled copiously for a couple minutes - the cool kind of bleeding where you can whip your injured extremity and cause big drops of blood to fly off and spatter on things.
The only real downside is that it's my Tivo thumb. I can't work the remote as well with my left hand (curiously, almost ironically).
