At the beginning of today I had the rear outer rim joist clamped to the inner rear, and partly nailed in place.
Because I am a total rookie at this carpentry thing, I failed to properly engineer my floor joists - the edges of the plywood flooring should sit halfway on a joist. To give support to the two sections of floor that would otherwise be weak, I used some redwood scraps from the Garden Box Project to make some cross-joists.
At the end of Day 6, I have all three sheets of 3/4" plywood set on the frame and nailed. One is completely nailed, and the other two are only nailed around the edges - I still need to secure them to the floor joists.
I spent most of today hammering, and despite wearing a pair of leather-palmed work gloves, I still got a blister.
Hammered Digit Count: 8
Also, because I'm a n00b carpenter, the floor frame is not perfectly square, despite my best efforts. It's off by about 1/4" or 3/8" in a couple places, which isn't too bad, I guess, over a distance of 12'. I should be able to do a better job of squaring the walls.
