[See Michael? Displeased Michael is displeased, and his normal good looks are somewhat marred by that he looks a bit like a zombie by this point from lack of sleep. Also half his hair is sticking up comically. HE DOES NOT NOTICE.]This event has lasted over a week. Has one ever been permanent ( Read more... )

None of them have been permanent, but some have lasted longer than a week.

I suggest you get some sleep, Michael-san. A human body cannot function too long without.

What's the longest one's lasted for?

I've been made aware of that, but it's easier said than done. How do humans manage it every night?

There once was an entire month of nothing but events.

I have never really thought about it, as we shinigami have the same sleep patterns that they do.

Were they all different events?

It takes getting used to for being that don't sleep. My siblings and I have never done so before in the billions of years we have existed.

They were repeats of prveious events. Some events have also lasted two weeks before.

I suggest lying down, closing your eyes and trying to breathe as deeply as possible. The body should do the rest once you are relaxed enough.

[Hearing some have been two weeks is reassuring. Maybe this one just is too.]

Then maybe this one'll be over next week.

[And he actually looks uncomfortable for a moment, which is weird for him.]

Falling asleep isn't the problem, it's staying that way.

Yes. We've never dreamed before.

For human beings, dreams are a necessary physiological process. They help with memorizing and learning processes.

So I've heard, but all they do is wake us up. It seems kind of counterproductive.

How come they wake you up?

I'm not sure. It's a human response, I suppose. Perhaps an adrenaline rush.
