okay. Let's finish this forest up. Maybe get some plot done.
(First portion of notes in AIM log, with other sperging,
Here. Feel free to skip it if you want, it's mostly ranting and raving.)
The important parts?
- Caught L15 Darumaka @ Route 4. Nicknamed "Azula".
- RM Steel evolved into Boldore!
- With help from a friend, RM Steel evolved into Gigalith!
And now back to your regularly scheduled rambly notes.
- THIRD GYM STEAMROLLERED
- AGAIN, THANK YOU SAKON CLAUS
- ahem. Yeah, RM Steel is going to be going on backburner so that my other mons can keep up. Don't wanna make this a one-poke show, especially considering that a stiff Special breeze can still knock Gigalith over.
- Goddamn it Bianca, I don't want a battle. :C I suppose your Snivy - or probably whatever it evolved into - can get burninated, at least.
- GODDAMN IT CHEREN I JUST FOUGHT BIANCA.
- RM Steel, Parrrsnips, and Azula are making a pretty damn good power-trio, I must admit.
- Caught L20 Dwebble @ Desert Resort, nicknamed "Hermit"
- shit trainer levels starting to catch up to team, never good
- Caught L19 Yamask @ Relic Castle, nicknamed "No Mouth"
- HOLY SHIT, MORE THAN SIX MONS. Back to town. Rerun is benched, No Mouth is in.
- Sweet. Fossil. Free Pokes = always good.
- And I guess I need it. :( GEUHDSUHDKSG POKEMON RANGERS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SAVE LIVES NOT TAKE THEM
- LOST No Mouth to Pokemon Ranger's Darumaka
- Time for a depressing trek back to Nacrene. :(
- Revived Cover Fossil into L25 Tirtouga at Nacrene City. Nicknamed "Tank".
Saved at Nacrene City, 9:12. Lost 1 Pokemon: No Mouth (Yamask, L19-23)
Current Party:
Pupstar, L24 Herdier (M)
Holding: Scope Lens
Crunch/Dig/Work Up/Take Down
Since Tepig checked out so early, Pupstar is pretty much the grizzled veteran of the group. Slapped Dig on him in preparation for the upcoing gym, though it's seen a surprising amount of use against Darumakas in the desert. Sand Rush makes him immune to Sandstorm damage, which is nice right now, but Intimidate would've been better in the long run. Ah well.
Azula, L26 Darumaka (F)
Holding: Charcoal
Fire Fang/Work Up/Fire Punch/Facade
Now that I'm out of the curse zone, Darumaka is pretty much doing everything I would've expected Tepig and its evolutions to do. Still gotta be careful, thanks to low defenses, but.
Parrrsnips, L26 Pansage (M)
Holding: Miracle Seed
Cut/Seed Bomb/Leech Seed/Work Up
I'm holding out on evolving him until I can get Acrobatics, hopefully, so that he can keep his job of "stifling Fighting types" going at a nice clip. Aside from that, Seed Bomb was a huge boon for him, and now he's actually doing pretty good damage, and things he hits Super-Effective (with exception of Roggenrola and its evolutions) tend to die quickly. Oddly, the fastest on the team.
RM Steel, L27 Gigalith (F)
Holding: Quick Claw
Rock Blast/Iron Defense/Smack Down/Headbutt
There is no rule that says I can't trade-evolve in Nuzlocke runs. Having a third-tier this early on might feel a little like cheating, but I can't lean on him like a crutch just yet; I have to make sure everyone else keeps up, or I'll regret it later.
Hermit, L20 Dwebble (M)
No Held Item
Sand-Attack/Faint Attack/Smack Down/Rock Polish
A Rock/Bug type when my party already has a pure Rock and a Rock/Water. Not exactly thrilled about the idea of using him. He'll probably be the next to get benched, barring catastrophe.
Tank, L25 Tirtouga (M)
No Held Item
Aqua Jet/AncientPower/Crunch/Wide Guard
Wow, those initial moves suck, except for Aqua Jet (kinda) and Crunch. Where's a Waterfall TM when you need it. I guess I coulda gone for an Archen, since Defeatist doesn't hurt so bad when your biggest threat is OHKOs, but I figure I was lacking a Water type far more than a Flying type.
