So, some people have expresed pissed-ness over the fact that I promised some pics ages ago abd never delivered. Sorry, I'll post them in a cut at the end of this entry.
Had a lot of Ring gigs lately which has been nice and also exhausting. Overall I'm pleased with how they went. Through a series of odd events on tuesday night, I met a producer who wants me for a bar scene in a movie being filmed in detroit at the end of the month. Yay. She was also interested in Ring, so I'm trying to promote the group as much as I can and get the whole group some work. Double yay. Summer classes suck. Don't think I'll be doing them again - or at least not a full 12 credits. Work's been almost nonexistant to allow me to go to school and the Ring gigs so I might not make my car payment without help this month. Damn, but oh well. Think that's all that's worth mentioning right now.
Here are some pics. Just found some old ones from a year or 2 ago with my sword group but unfortunately all of those are low rez cuz I'm not freaking paying to download the good versions right now. Big thanks to Wendy for taking and posting the ROS pics.
More recent pics; mainly costumes:
Lara Croft
Aurra Sing (I'm the white one) and Aayla Secura at C3
Another Lara costume
Another Aurra
Quite possibly the only "normal" pic of me in existance. Btw, my bedroom isn't that messy; that's my costume workroom which is supposed to be a pit, damnit.
Older Ring Of Steel pics:
Well, ok this one isn't that old but it's a good pic of Greg. Those of you in Ring can probably tell that this is the beginning of the third block of Single Broadsword (I do the defending side). This was also the pic that ended up in the spartan news since this was a gig in East Lansing. I was amazed that his hat stayed on during the fight.
Return of the King midnight premire. They told me to dress up like Haldir so I did. I was freakin' tired and I also broke 2 of my fingers that night. Still fun though.
One of my favorites (even before we broke up). The rez is crap but I love the poses in this. We were doing a scene from a Castlevania game (the one with Sonjia)which is why I have a whip on my belt.
Practice for the Jedi gig for the U of M pops concert. They wanted some Jedi to run on and fight during the opening theme for star wars. We had NO FIGHT SPACE. Plus we didn't get to see the fight space untill 2 hours before we were to go on. Still went ok even with a couple mess ups (Zach's lightsaber got caught on some tape that was blocking off a row of seats for a sec). The crowd liked it and that was the point. Plus I got to take a flying leap off the stage. Again: NO FUCKING SPACE!
Here's a couple from the Erebus haunted house gig from a couple years ago. I really loved fighting there every weekend for like...5-6 weeks? Anyway, Gary: I love you, you're a great actor and director *BUT* I hated that damn make-up for the haunted house! I know it had to be really dramatic but Elizabeth and I looked like vampire-hooker-clowns! No more blue eyeshadow - or at least no more blush!!! I still think this is my favorite of the gigs I've done with Ring.
And since I've already put this many pics up, I've got to show some of my fave pics of a few of my star wars friends.
The bad guys of R2-Detroit and the 501st at the IMAX AtoC premire.
Romeo and Juliet Star Wars style.
Read the sign behind Boba. It's kinda funny given the context. Remember kids: Star Wars is a great American cutlural and educational treasure.
And now my tribute to those wacky stormtroopers. I don't know why, but everything's funnier when a stormtrooper does it. Or maybe that's just me.
Ha! Bet you guys will never ask for pictures again. Too bad. It's my LJ and I'll post however many I want. :P Anyway, that was a lot of posting. I'm going to bed.
