History:
http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Emiya_ShirouPersonality: For Shirou, his ideals are everything. The idea of being a super hero and saving people for the rest of his life is what he wants to do. At first, he had a nice and rosey view of this but was smacked in the face by reality. Instead of giving up, Shirou stuck by it even more and even though he knew it wasn’t as clean cut as “save someone and receive smiles”. He recognized the faults in his ideals and decided to deal with them as they came. He received these ideals from his adoptive father, Kiritsugu, who could never achieve his ideal of being a hero. So young Shirou took on his wishes and vowed to follow them to the end, hoping to be able to wield the same smile his father had when he saved Shirou.
To support this ideal, Shirou will do almost anything that is asked of him. He does not use the phrase, “No, I can’t do that.” Even if he knows he’s being used, Shirou will do what is asked without complaint because it makes someone else's life easier. Because of his constant work, he’s built up an extreme amount of stubbornness and he never admits defeat even if he has no training or talent in a certain area. The game goes as far to tell us that Shirou kept attempting to jump over a bar in gym class for over 4 hours even though it was absolutely impossible for him.
Because of his need to see someone smile and his urge to never give up, Rin says he’s a broken man. Shirou is slightly messed up in the head, being the only survivor out 500+ people and watching them die. In his own head, he’s already dead but since he was rescued, he lives for others and not himself. His own pain, sweat, and blood mean nothing to him.
Outside of his ideals, Shirou is a happy young man who is something of a dunce. Shirou has a great memory but terrible common sense. He throws himself head first into fights while being fully aware that someone like Saber would be able to do the job far more efficiently. And despite all the tl;dr about being selfless, there are times when Shirou speaks up for himself. Most of these revolve around being blamed for something he didn’t do and he happens to get rather frustrated when he gets in trouble for something that isn’t his fault.
Shirou also has an unfortunate infatuation with swords. Even to the point where he dreams his body is made of swords. On another route, this actually happens and his body is literally made out of swords. His primary weapons, Kanshou and Bakuya, are swords that represent the Chinese Yin and Yang. Their curved blades represent his knowledge that his ideals are impossible (black) but he will still strive for them (white). Yes, his affinity with bladed objects are so great that his life is pretty much engraved in them.
Also, Tohsaka Rin is a devil.
Strengths:
Physical: Shirou is a beast when it comes to strength. He’s able to hit swords together hard enough that they shatter into little bits. He’s also capable of taking extreme amounts of pain. That combined with his ability to use magic means he can walk on a broken leg and use muscles that have been cut up. Other magical abilities include making legendary weapons with magic and imposing his mental world (Unlimited Blade Works) upon the real world for an extremely short period of time. Also, imbedded in his body is Avalon, the sheath of Excalibur. Whenever Saber is in his general vicinity, he can recover from any wound within a couple days. As long as he isn’t outright killed, he will most likely survive if Saber is around.
Mental: Shirou has a very good memory and is capable of recalling tiny events that had happened years ago. He can also look at objects and tell what they’re made of, how old they are, and if he can fix it.
Emotional: Shirou will never give up. (Never let you down, etc) Plus, it seems impossible to traumatize him since he has already been through what he considers the worst thing ever.
Weaknesses:
Physical: Shirou has a really bad habit of hurting himself or causing himself pain. Often times, it happens because it’s a side effect of what he really wants to do (practice magic) but he’s also getting cut up, bones broken, and bashed in.
Mental: PEOPLE DIE WHEN THEY ARE KILLED. No, seriously, smarts and Shirou do not go together. He’s actually a little below average in mental activities at school and absolutely horrific at English. He gets through school with HARD WORK and help from his bro, Issei.
Emotional: Shirou is pretty much dead to himself. He doesn’t consider his own safety in anything and this is one of the direct causes of him getting hurt so much. The safety of others always take first priority to him, even if he’s cut in half and can barely stand up YES THIS IS CANON.

First Person: I would like a Q/A please
Third Person:
Wow, they really had almost everything. Fresh food, fruit, and whatever Shirou could think of to make for dinner. He felt a little remorse since it was almost like stealing. On the other hand, free food was always appreciated and it seemed to be the norm so it wasn't like he was breaking any laws. ...was he? Maybe it was best to just not think about it. Scratching his head, that's what Shirou decided to do.
Even so, what a haul. He had six bags in his hand, all filled with delicious goodness. He wouldn't have to worry about whether to make an eastern or western dish since he could do both now. If only it was like this back home. Making enough food to satisfy both Fuji-nee and Saber would make his life infinitely easier and seeing their smiling faces after a meal would be a miracle in itself. As it is, he was either going to face Fuji-nee's wrath at the dinner table or Saber would hold in her anger until sword practice. Then there would be pain.
Yeah, being stuck here was a pain but the best part about bad situations was that there were always things to look up to. A bright sky, decent food, and relatively normal calm. Relatively normal was still an iffy prospect as the wings on his back reminded him. He had heard some disturbing things and didn't like them in the slightest bit. He was worried about everyone else and how they stood up to any problems that rolled around.
It was sad in a sense that maybe he would get to be a hero again. He could save everyone stuck here and when they returned home, Shirou could smile for himself. Their thanks would be worth every moment of hell that he might go through if it ever happened. Yes, he was thankful he could continue playing hero but not thankful of the fact that being a hero required a villain.
With another sigh, Shirou just dropped the conflicting matter. He would worry about it when the time came. In the meantime, he was getting hungry and he had food in his hands. The outcome of this was meant to be obvious. It was just going to be another normal day of life...
