Only Capitalists Get Photographers!

Despite a really rocky first week and a half, I am finally all settled in and thriving. As wonderful as Oxford is, and there are many wonderful things about it, the best part about being here is planning, well, leaving here. Barring some major unforeseen obstacle, I'm going to go down to the bank tomorrow, finish harassing them and hopefully leave ( Read more... )

If I had known you wanted to learn to dance, especially the waltz, I'd have invited you to come to the Gaskell Balls with me! Not only do we dance the waltz (and the polka and schottische and mazurka), we also do the CONGRESS OF VIENNA!

Obviously, I have to invite you when you come back.

Now, as to your post: I AM SO JEALOUS. And you better have tons of fun on your trips!!! They sound so awesome. But I had no idea you wanted to climb Mount Olympus - good for you! It is kind of sad to hear that you missed the easy climb. D:

And hey, if you need a Greek phrasebook, I'v got one at home from when I went to Greece. Want me to send it to you? Message me your address if you want it (I wouldn't think you'd want to post that here where anyone could see it).

BON VOYAGE!! <3

Haha, I have absolutely ZERO skill or knowledge of dancing, but it seems like everyone ought to learn how to dance the waltz, so I want to learn! Thank you so much for the offer of the phrasebook =) I think I ought to be fine, though- one of my fellow MST US students has a friend in Athens, and I'm hopefully going to meet up with her at some point, so she can give me some navigational and linguistic pointers.

How are you doing??? I miss you so much and I hardly got to see you all summer before I left.

The waltz really only requires not crossing your feet, and following his lead. So really, if the waltz sucks, it HIS fault for not leading you well! :P

If you ever do want the phrasebook, just let me know. It's sitting gathering dust, and it might as well get some use. But someone who lies in Athens is much better than a phrasebook - stick with the friend!

I'm... well, I'm living the Chinese Curse. Which certainly makes sure that things aren't dull, but sometimes I could really go for a dose of 'boring'. AND I MISS YOU. I only got to see you... what, at the Murder Mystery? And then never again! D: Which is an incredibly depressing state of events, and now you're all the way across the pond.

Boys are still stupid, by the by. Well, most of them are at any rate - mostly the ones that I know! DX Hopefully you're having better luck than I.

How are classes? Have they started yet? How are your professors? How's living in England? HOW ARE YOU?

I couldn't agree more that boys are stupid the majority of the time! That's why I try not to collect them =) This was the second week of classes, and so far I'm really enjoying them. My professors are absolutely wonderful, interesting lecturers and very friendly. Living in England is not so great. It's freezing here, and I do have a problem with the cloud cover (although today is gorgeous). Far worse is how flat everything is- I miss my California hills and wilderness!

Haha, maybe I should start cutting down my collection - they're more trouble than they're worth, really. :P

Yeah, I bet England is cold - especially with autumn/winter settling in! Brrr - dress warmly! Drink lots of cocoa/tea/coffee! Stay warm! Also, I think the area you're in is even flatter than a few other places in England, not that their hills ever live up to California's hills. But maybe you can find some surrogates? *hug*
