A Distinct Lack of Diplomacy

Nov 17, 2006 18:34

There is a reason why I am on a combat team, and not sent on infiltration or diplomatic or seduction missions.

I have all the tact of a set of iron chui.

Somehow, this fight became an invitation to tea.

And that tea became a fair disaster. Yup, Sasuke doesn't seem to be wanting to go back to Konoha. And I seem to have a talent for pissing him off. ( Read more... )

The Uchiha takes offense when and where and at whatever he pleases. Your failed attempt at socialising with him stems more from his inability to be a human, or even a well-mannered approximation thereof, than from any fault with you.

Then again, you made no promises to the Uchiha.

I never said he wasn't. I said 'inability to be a human', meaning inability to express appropriate emotion, or cover it up with manners.

Tenten would have understood that.

Just 'cause he don't act the way everyone thinks he should, it don't mean there's anything wrong with him.

...Pardon me?

I think you will understand if I disagree. Considering his past actions, I would say there is something very wrong with him. Treacherously wrong.

I don't mean that what he's done is right. It's just that...well...I understand why he's done it at least. =/

His actions are understandable, but still unconscionable.

Do not expect me to forgive a man who has treated my team-mate poorly.

But...she knew what he was like already... Not that Sasuke was right to act the way he did though.

He asked her to tea as a peace offering. Expecting appropriate behaviour from him is not entirely unreasonable.

Unfortunately for her, he is incapable of even pretending to be civil.

He asked her? I-I didn't know.

....... You're wrong. He just...he didn't...

Naruto, I'm sorry, but I do think there's something wrong with him. How can he hate Konoha so much?

And thanks, Neji.

It's not... There's more to it than that!

There may be more to his treachery... But there is undoubtedly something wrong with him.

How can you save him if you make excuses for him?
