Since the barriers went down, I've seen a lot of different reactions about what to about it. The more immediate concern should be dealing with the creatures that have been spotted. No one will be able to do anything if they start to gain ground within the city

It was an entirely different situation, you must understand that much at first. The 'deities' themselves seemed to have disappeared--indeed, we thought for a time that they'd been killed, if that's at all possible. And, in their place, claiming to have done away with the 'deities', were other creatures not all that different from them calling themselves 'stewards'. They promised us a way home, if we'd follow them. When it was revealed that this was an overwhelming lie, we ended up standing against them and actually defending the City so many of us despise. It was only after some time that the 'deities' returned again to finish the battle. And they arrived by riding on the backs of these creatures, or ones very much like them. So it wasn't these creatures invading. In fact, they were helping to drive out the last of the invaders.

The time before, I only know the stories I was told soon after I arrived, but there were apparently three animals: a dog, a cat, and one of these creatures--harpies. And they made particular demands on the City for sacrifices. The dog, too, has since returned more than once.

As for what they're capable of, I'm not at all certain. I've only ever seen them on our side, not fighting against us. But if the 'deities' use them, I think they must be more than a little formidable.

Any theories on why this is happening now? Maybe it's a test of some sort or foreshadowing of what's to come. The so-called deities don't seem too endeared by us. I wouldn't be surprised if they solely keep us around to amuse themselves or they are testing us to use us for some great scheme they have.

Something has clearly happened. The time before, the 'deities' offices were completely destroyed--apparently in a show of force by the 'stewards'. So something has happened on such a scale as to upset the usual balance of the City.

That would explain the strange occurrences that have happened recently, but nothing explains what caused them. The answers probably lie with the Deities, has anyone ever been in contact with them in person?

That rather depends on what you mean by 'in person'. They'll certainly answers calls made to them through the Network, and I know some people have seen them, but it's a risky thing to do, at best.

It's probably risky but I think eventually it's what we'll have to do.
