UNBELIEVABLE!!

Bartoli. Beating Justine.

Fucking #19 in the world, beating Justine, the #1 in the world. WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?

Seriously.

Good god, that was one hell of a upset. I love Center Court drama.

Now, on to more serious things:

Murrovic.

They truly are adorable together. Through to the quarters, which is awesome. If they can get through this match and Alex Bogdanovic and Melanie South get through their match, they'll meet in the semi. Which'll mean I won't know who to support, since Bogsouth are playing so so well (they knock out the number 1 seeds, for cryin' out loud!) and I want to support an all-British side.

But then, this is Jamie, and he's Andy's older brother and it would be so great if he would get to the final and win the first title of the brothers. And Jelena is just so adorable when she smiles and plays pretty damn well too, and also she's Serbian and I have a weakness for Serbian's at the moment, it seems (go Nole!).

So I'm torn. And surely if they do meet, tptb will put it on one of the show courts, cause there is sure to be a crowd for them. Home support and all. And they say British tennis is in a state, huh? (singles competition be damned. DOUBLES COUNT, dammit!).

Anyway, there has been a lot in the press about Murrovic recently. Mostly quotes from the press confrences they do and reports on how giggly and smiley they are together on court. It's kinda fun!

Jankovic thinks Murray has made a mistake

LONDON (Reuters) - Andy Murray's brother Jamie must have thought he had pulled off a coup when Jelena Jankovic agreed to play mixed doubles with him at Wimbledon.

The women's world number three, however, thinks the British doubles specialist has made a huge mistake.

"It's not my thing. I'm not a good doubles player. I don't think I'm going to be useful for him. He made a bad choice," said the French Open semi-finalist.

The Serb also scotched rumours that she was hoping for a love-match out of the association.

"It was the funniest thing that I've heard lately that I have a sweet spot for Jamie Murray. Where did that (come) from?," she said.

"If I don't really know the guy, how can I like him. I just want to confirm that it's not true. His agent said I was first on his list to play so maybe he has a soft spot for me!"

Beauty and Stretch make success of unlikely pairing

It was quite a compliment to Jamie Murray that the day after Jelena Jankovic had completed the toughest schedule of any player during the first half of the year, she should agree to remain at Wimbledon just to play mixed doubles with him.

But she clearly enjoyed it, the Serb and the Scot sharing broad grins before and during a recovery which carried them to a 3-6, 7-6, 6-2 win over two English hopes, Richard Bloomfield and Sarah Borwell.

Jankovic had made indignant protests at gossip that she was partnering Murray because she fancied him. It was his agent who called her, she emphasised, giggling, and perhaps the fancy was in the other way. So it was with a quizzical eye that spectators watched the world No3 and Murray form their unexpected partnership.

It worked well too, eventually. But after losing the advantage of an early break in a shaky first set they were four points from defeat in the tie-break before a clash of rackets conjured a comical volley which gained a 5-3 lead, and helped them slip out the door to a final set.

Jankovic had also suggested that as she did not play mixed doubles very often, she might not be very good at it. But there was no risk of that. "I could tell he was nervous for sure," she said at their joint press conference, with Murray nodding in agreement. "I think I missed 18 shots in a row," he said. "I hadn't played mixed doubles before either." "But he played well later," she added hastily.

Asked about the compliment she had paid him by playing he said: "I obviously didn't know if she wanted to stick around but she seemed happy enough. If I keep her smiling she'll keep playing with me."

And asked about equivalent names to those of Booty and Stretch (Murray's men's doubles combination with Eric Butorac) the sought-after answer emerged at once. "Beauty and Stretch," he said. Jankovic proffered no indignant response at that...(it goes on, but about the other mixed doubles matches and results)

Jamie Murray and Jelena Jankovic continued their happy progress through the mixed-doubles draw, giggling their way to a 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 victory over the third seeds Mark Knowles and Zi Yan to reach the third round. They face Julian Knowle and Tiantian Sun today. Murray has something of a backlog of matches as he is also due to playmen's doubles with Eric Butorac today.

Murray and Jankovic have certainly developed a rapport. At their post-match press conference, she put a hair clip in his mop of curls and appeared to invite herself to Scotland for Christmas. "He does everything I tell him to, which is good," said Jankovic, who may or may not have been joking. "I got a lot of offers before but I don't really like playing mixed doubles or doubles so I don't know why I said yes. But now I think this is a good decision."

1333: When do you play next, the press ask a defeated Jamie Murray: "In about 10 minutes, so if we could wrap this up...." And on the burning Jelena Jankovic issue: "She's fun but I haven't quite bought a ring yet."

Can I say, Jelena in Scotland for Christmas? Totally awesome. Jamie so likes her. He so does. Poor boy, she'll eat him alive no doubt.
