6th Story | Video

[sword_and_quill]

[ When the video comes on, a young, dark-haired man can be seen--his back to the camera and ponytail hanging over the back of his shirt.

For a long moment, he doesn't move or say a thing. The video feed is just eerily silent for a few moments before--

DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS OUT OF NOWHERE!

And on the very last beat of the short sound clip, the man turns

...I don't think I understand.

[ Voice ]

[ ...And neither does he. ]

Whatever that was, just forget you saw it.

[ Voice ]

Should I? I'm only curious about the meaning of the composition.

[ Voice ]

I don't know it, myself. Seems utterly pointless.

[ Pause. ]

Are these the kind of nonsense things the curses do?

[ At least it's not dangerous in this case, he supposes, but he hates the thought of having his mind messed with. ]

[ Voice ]

[treadingdawn]

What I know--and what I know may not be much...there are worse things that could happen.

[ Voice ]

[sword_and_quill]

[ His tone turns grave. ]

...So I've heard.

And none of this seems to serve any goddamn purpose, anyway. It's as though these so-called 'deities' just want to play with puppets on strings for their own amusement.

[ And he's had enough of that. More than enough. ]

[ Voice ]

[treadingdawn]

[Whoops he didn't meant to make things somber.]

Perhaps for today we can simply count our blessings and learn to laugh. It was curious but not alarming.

[ Voice ]

[ Fakir is hardly ever anything more than a grouch, anyway.

Laughter might as well not exist. ]

Hmph. There's no blessing about anything in this place.

[ Voice ]

[Now Caspian will have to learn the hard way.]

You're not incapacitated in some way, that has to be good.

[ Voice ]

Nothing is good about a place that traps you against your will and inflicts these 'curses' upon its inhabitants every couple of days.

And there's nothing good about being forced to do anything against your will, whether harmless or not.

[ Fakir, a pessimist? Never. ]
