...Fakir...
....Why are you here?
...Listen to your mother, Fakir. She---We both have something to tell you and your sister.
...I can't undo what already happened. I made a....I made a mistake.
Hush, dear. We're not here to blame you for anything. You were trying to help and we know that.
But I--
It's not your fault. Now please, listen to us?
...What do you want?
Don't take that tone with your mother--
Shh. Let it go, love. This is more important. Fakir---We were the ones who made a mistake.
That's nonsense! I was the one who--
We never supported you when you needed it the most. Word of...what you could do traveled fast in town. There were whispers all about and hushed warnings passed from one to another in the streets... We grew worried. Men in dark cloaks warned us to stop you while you were still young. And we tried---but you wouldn't give it up for anything. It was the one thing you took joy in above all else.
That's hardly your fault if I was stubborn about--
We didn't have the heart to physically stop you, but I....we... were afraid of what could happen.
And you had every right to be! It's dangerous and--
No, Fakir. We should have supported you. Instead, we fell victim to rumors and were uneasy because of other people's fears. We didn't...We didn't believe in our own son.
She's right. As your father, I confess myself ashamed. We should have been proud of such a son who always did his best and made a stand to help others even in the face of that terrifying raven outbreak in Kinkan.
It's too late for us, Fakir. We doubted you when you needed us and we never stood up for you. And we failed Sara, as well. That was our mistake and...I'm only glad we were able to protect you in the end. I wish we could have done more for the both of you.
Don't talk like that! You're acting as though I'm not the cause of your--
Be someone who believes, Fakir. It's not too late for you. It's always easier to doubt, but with a strong will like yours, we know you can do it. Have courage in yourself and in others. The more you waver, the more outside influences will sway your will. Don't let that happen to you. There is a great power in belief and in faith. You need only have the courage and determination to grasp it.
...I can't do that. I've done too many... I can't take any pride in failure.
Please, Fakir. Don't give up. And pass our message on to your sister. It is important for you and her both. Take heed of our words while you still can.
[ ooc: Affected and seeing the ghosts of his (and Rue's) parents. It's never really explained how they dealt with Fakir's writing ability, but the way they stood warily in the doorway during a flashback where he was writing made me believe they actually feared what he could do or what the Story-spinning powers could do to him. This is fanon, however. I took some liberties with it. Nonetheless, I think this is good advice for Fakir right now, so I went with it. ]
